Ariete C2 (AMV PT3)

So is the last few images i added, the ones without the armor kits, along with the top down image the PT3 then?

The reason i had posted the images i did is most of them came from the IVECO-OTO-Melara website page ragarding the C2, and assumed the PT3 being C2 at least until production for the upgrade starts, and so i used the images the website provided.

Back when i was first making this post the only thing i could distinguish between certain images of the C2 prototypes would be the gunners sight

I assumed the PT2 lacked the flaps that protect the lences, like you see in that image above

While the PT3 did possess them like you see in this image.

Though now that i think of it, those covers dont look dificult to install, so im not suprised they gave it to the PT2

This top tier can make Italy almost competitive! +1

It’s funny how the C2 was a project that was shelved and then made a comeback in a different form here. The C2/PT3 looks good, looking forward to seeing it.

On a side note, I hope they decide to add a composite armor layer over the LFP and addon turret cheeks and slat armor around the engine in final form. I know it’s not likely considering how the WAR and PSO kits are but one can dream.

Well the Italians have also lately been studdying Israeli hard kill APS, and German soft kill APS, and have been in talks about potentially integrating one of those systems into their military, so hopefully if they do the production model C2 can get it

Now that would be something. A C2 Ariete (AMV PT3) with Israeli Trophy or Iron Fist-Light Decoupled (IF-LD), or German ADS/StrikeShield would be sick! They could even look at the French Thales Diamant. When it’s paired with the ‘Leopard 2A8IT’, IMBT, or whatever the Italian Army decides on, it will make a solid lineup.

Any news on a Remote Weapon Station for the Commander? I know the vehicle just received a 12.7mm machine gun and all. A Hitrole Light RWS like on the Centauro II MGS, would be icing on the cake.

Well the AMVs are just pre production prototypes, its very likely theyll have a few changes and additions to the final model. Personally id be suprised if they dont give it the Hitrole since its something many other AFVs in their military, including their Centauro II have

@Yontzee, @DemoNik8770, C2/AMV PT3 will be upgrades to the C1 fleet not new vehicles

Yeah I’m tracking. Just waiting to see how far they take the upgrades.

I know, but they will still need to produce the upgrade kits in question, and what im saying is once they begin modifying their Arietes, it likely wont be 1:1 compared to the prototypes

I hope to see some updates on this MBT program soon.

As for the Ariete AMV (PT3), it’s going to be somewhat more survivable but base armor still struggles. Question for everyone, wasn’t there bug reports for the armor that were denied?

Edit: Just realized the “List of Previously Suggested Ideas - Italian Ground Forces” is missing under the general “Ground Suggestions” forum post.

Acknowledged you mean?

Idk it’s here for me

Spoiler

+1 I say yes to that, on the other hand, the thing will appear balanced in the game with older ammunition and “balanced armour modelling” so the joy is a bit small.

Yup, this. Thanks m8

Weird, idk why.

Just realized, are they not adding the front turret armor from the WAR kit? Looks like they have the lug points and just haven’t mounted it yet or took images with it?

Italy really needs this, however the Arietes need an armor update first before they get another gimped Ariete for the top tier lineups.
