This. The game has so many issues that are highlighted time and time again which are completely ignored by the devs. The introduction of infantry is simply going to mean that any hope of existing problems (flawed volumetric damage model, poor map design, constant uptiering, worthless matchmaker, etc, etc, etc) being addressed go completely out the window because the focus will be on getting the infantry side of things implemented properly. Thanks but no thanks. Hopefully enough people vote with their feet to make Gaijin realise the player base are fed up with being ignored. Before anyone says “but it’s a free game”, many already pay for the privilege of playing this broken game and as such should be able to expect better from a developer.
I don’t want to have to come here to the forum of a game that was originally EXCLUSIVE to tanks, planes, ships, and helicopters just to complain about more BUGS, server issues, broken armor plates, or rifle ammo not working properly all because you decided to shove an “Enlisted” mode into War Thunder.
I want THEM TO LISTEN TO US MORE.
I want the veteran players, the ones who actually care about the real state of the game, to finally be HEARD not ignored in favor of the “New Guys Order” crowd who think they know more than someone with over 10,000 hours just on a secondary Steam account.
I want them to fix the old problems, fix the things the community has been complaining about for YEARS.
Make the armor actually work, because half the time it feels like it doesn’t even exist on your vehicle or ship.
Do whatever it takes to HELP the community rather than ignoring it.
I don’t want to see Enlisted a game that is basically dead with just a few hundred players being shoved into a stable game like War Thunder. I don’t accept a game concept that clearly won’t behave the way you’re imagining it will.
We already have enough issues with the game modes War Thunder currently has.
Adding another mode that might break all the others is not helping anything.
Anything but fixing the game. They are also cannibalizing Enlisted’s playerbase so rip that game. Super intelligent gaijin move.
You will have to grind from primal era)
The game is Gaijin’s; they made it and own it. They can do whatever the hell they want with it. People like you way back complained about tanks, which were first introduced; many complained, claiming this was a plane game. Gaijin repeated the same statement over the years. It is a war game, nothing more and nothing less. Not this or that.
Years later, people complained about Jet’s, helicopters, ships, and now it’s infantry. That’s your guy/Gal’s problem, you think the game is this and that, and any answer we give you will never be enough cause you are hell bent on believing it isn’t.
What should be concerning is not infantry but the fears of aim-bottling getting worse.
It really looks like that’s what’s happening. They see the playerbase dropping on Enlisted, and now they want to shove a solid, stable War Thunder playerbase into “enjoying” a gameplay style that’s INFESTED with bots that have the IQ of a worm, while they barely care about the real problems the game has right now.
Or perhaps Gaijin purposely had Enlisted made as a test bed?.
Ever thought they did that on purpose? Look at Crusine Royal, they tested the idea of Infantry in that April Fools of a game, before releasing Enlisted, it was intentional.
Look at Enlisted, same thing, it’s to provide information.
How about you join their team and walk into a private boardroom meeting with this genius idea:
‘Let’s make a pop-up ad that opens every time a War Thunder match ends, promoting ENLISTED.
The WT players are gonna love it, and they’ll totally revive our dead game.
Wow, that’s crazy, it’s almost as if they’re using the larger player base to get feedback on Enlisted on how they will implement them into a game that’s called and I quote “WAR THUNDER.”
Actually, it was originally exclusive to aircraft. did you complain about the addition of tanks, helicopters, and ships to this combined-arms game as well?
elitist ah, plus I don’t think crashing out and pointing fingers is a good way to get heard…
Also funny how we still have modern vehicles with WW2 crewmodels (e.g. Leopard 40/70) or comically rough animations for open top vehicles gunners (some even are just hidden in the hull, because animations’d be too hard to make: Wiesel 1A2, Fiat 6614 and etc), but we are getting infantry mode…
It’s funny he calls himself a veteran, yet I am a veteran, May 30th, 2017. I’ve been playing since 16, I’m 25 now. They always scapegoat us Veterans cause we’ve been playing a long time, but here’s the truth, we don’t actually care anymore. If Gaijin releases cool stuff, ok. It’s nothing but aw man all well.
We’ve got a strong, tight community built around the game modes we already have. Adding another mode , one we can literally play by just downloading a different game is pointless, especially if it means making War Thunder heavier by another 70GB ( and that’s not even counting the extra 170GB of Ultra HD textures you can download through the launcher ).
This is not the time to add infantry.
It’s not the moment.
We have bigger problems.
We have more important things that need fixing.
Infantry should NOT be a development priority in a game the community has supported for years.
We don’t need infantry.
We don’t need another tech tree to grind for months.
If someone wants infantry gameplay, then honestly: go play Enlisted, Battlefield, Squad, Hell Let Loose, or any other game built for that.
But don’t shove another mode into War Thunder that will be dead as soon as the big YouTubers milk it for a couple of months and then go right back to tanks, planes, and ships which a lot of players barely touch already.
The infantry hype is just engagement bait.
There’s nothing truly beneficial about adding it to the game.
If the gun plays good I’m in and I’ve run out of tanks in interested in playing
If the “infantry hype” dies and no one plays it, it just won’t be updated and then there’s no problem. It is a closed beta test after all- if the test goes poorly no further work will be put into the mode. Tests that went well (e.g. Rank IX) are eventually expanded into full modes that people enjoy, while one that don’t (e.g. Silent Thunder) are mostly forgotten, or potentially brought back for further iteration at a later date. The only way Gaijin is diverting resources to a proper combined-arms mode is if there are players who are interested (and invested). You really have nothing to worry about in the long-term unless you just really have a problem with other people enjoying a game mode that you don’t.
Pointing fingers and complaining is the best way to give feedback about the game. Or do you want the community to just sit quietly and accept all the flaws happening in the game without being able to criticize or question things that matter way more than a damn new infantry tech tree, my dude?
There isn’t a single game out there where you can’t give feedback by calling out the mistakes and complaining about certain additions or problems that don’t just affect you. the guy who doesn’t even play 80 hours a week, but the entire community and every game mode that exists.
Tell me, bro: do you want the community to stay completely silent, or are you just trying to farm support from the 0.07% of people who think this is a great moment to shove another stinky grind down players’ throats for months just so it can be sold later ?
Man, it’s like trying to clean your room while the dog keeps messing everything up again. There’s no point in explaining how exhausted the community is from seeing so many issues ruining the game and not being heard, just because some dude thinks “we shouldn’t complain because the game belongs to them.
You can just not play it as well if you’re not interested in it……
Pointing fingers and complaining provide no actual information of value to improve the game.
Pointing fingers and complaining is not constructive feedback; it’s just people whining.
That’s where you’re wrong. What is an effective means of change is rational and reasonable argument, e.g. “I think AI infantry makes the most sense for this mode for X Y Z reasons”. What doesn’t help us crashing out about “new players killing mah game” and “Gaijin should only listen to me because I have 10,000 hours”. You say there are issues you’ve been complaining about for years that haven’t been addressed- why do you think that is? Because you didn’t scream loud enough? Or maybe do you need to calm down and consider other perspectives, and change your methods?
Claiming to stand for the community while simultaneously saying Gaijin should only listen to “veterans with 10,000 hours”… not a good look, man. Especially if your platform is “players shouldn’t be allowed to try this new game mode and see if they like it”. Infantry isn’t even out yet, hold your complaints until it’s had some time to cook!
🤷 can’t help you dude it’s coming play it, don’t play it, you won’t be forced to play it if you choose not to, you won’t be forced to pay anything to play it if you don’t want to, but if it affects you this much you can always play something else there are many other games in the world. I’m interested to see how it goes and I know a number of people who haven’t played warthunder in years who despise the game are actually coming back to try the beta if they get accepted to the beta. But getting annoyed at people on the forums is also not a great way to approach this.
