it would not take much to persuade me that they never tested it in coastal

Half right, Russia/USSR actually never had any air force at all, it was all pure propaganda. Sukhoi, Mikoyan, Tupolev, and Yakovlev are all fake companies that make paper airplanes.

it is a shame they went with 7.7mm guns for most of the french coastal fleet
all the time designing them wasted because even hard core coastal players dont play 303 - 7mm stuff unless it is to tag with reserve boats because it is far too tedious to play them
