Are there any reasons not to use the machine gun computer?

So I recently discovered that there is a machine gun computer for modern-ish jets. The combination is Y-3-1 I think.

It let’s you shoot ground targets more accurately, saving ammo, and it doesn’t affect aerial aim.

I’m just wondering if there is a disadvantage or reason not to use it.

Biggest disadvantage is if you’re trying to fight a plane close to the ground or near a hill/mountain as the CCIP will change to the ground target point as soon as you’re within range and aim of ground it can hit.
