Are radar gun sights useless?

Hi guys.

It seems to me, the radar gun sights seem to be the most useless thing in game.

Modern radar gun sights, like these produced by Israel and Italy, are PD. But they’re not simulated as PD in game.

They don’t work in third person

They can’t seeker slave (a very important for early all aspect missiles)

They give out RWR ping

Seriously for air RB, are they more than just tools to annoy your teammates with? I turn them off at the beginning of the battle because they’re just so useless.

I’ve only found them to be useful for a handful of planes that have a proper HUD in sim because the tracked target does show up, and when I’m unable to visually judge the range of an aircraft in sim.

There just isn’t a use for them in air RB.
