Ar 234 Family Burn Bug (Live)

Since the release of the new Sky Odyssey update, bombers have received several buffs to their survivability. This also applies to jet bombers, including the Arado 234 family.

Now there is an interesting little bug that can sometimes make these aircraft completely unplayable: if one of your engines gets hit and catches fire, you are basically guaranteed to die. It doesn’t matter whether you have one or two engines on that side.

Why? Because the fire magically spreads to the other side of the aircraft. The game then seems to consider the aircraft heavily damaged and starts setting the fuel tanks on fire as well.

Congratulations! You are now a flying fireball with no control, burning up at an impressive speed. And if your control surfaces or flaps get damaged in the process, especially while you’re turning, you can pretty much start writing your will.

The funniest part? None of this requires the other engine or the fuel tanks to actually be hit. One engine catches fire, and apparently the fire just decides to take a sightseeing tour through the entire aircraft.

So much for bomber survivability.
