APDS and HVAP

I know APDS and HVAP will shatter in real life, but current shatter rate in game is still too high, it seem like they all manufactured by the glass factory. Sometime the shatter rate of the 10 round belt could come to 60%, with only 4 round actual penetrate the target, even the expire round in real life is still having far more success penetrate rate than this LOL

One issue with the shells shattering is that it was never explained in a dev blog.

They just implemented it in some way but we don’t really know the requirements.

As long as APHE explodes in a sphere, APDS/APCR shouldn’t shatter. Simple as that.

I’ve had auto cannon shells shatter on a bmp’s turret… Like wtf is going on there!? My conqueror shattered point blank on a leopard 1s side skirts as he drove round the corner… Ohh so that energy just disappeared into a 20mm plate, that round should have the power to punch through the front of the leopard and come out of the ass end! Shell shatter on extreme angles… But it seems currently it done through RNG.

It’s not, it’s actually extremely low compared to IRL. Even APFSDS shatters too.

I don’t think it is, IRL APDS or HVAP shatter mostly due to hitting armour that harder than it design for, but in WT the round can shatter even hitting the glass and the fronter armour? gun shield? of the m56. Like really? I can even pen that thing with the 7.62mg and you tell me the 20mm APDS shatter after hitting that?

It is, high angles always shatter, that’s just how it works.

If looking from realistic perspective. APHE wouldn’t not explode like the grenade like we had atm either. (assume their FUSE would work perfectly fine without failure after hitting armor at such velocity or don’t shatter like APCR/HVAP,APDS)

And irl tank crew also won’t be able to repair their tank like in this game as well. thus irl penetration seem matter more than damage output

However in this game while APDS and APCR suffer from its poor damage output . APHE benefit from its overbuff damage output.
I would suggest they buff AP , APDS , APCR damage output or nerf APHE damage output(explode like grenade)

They offered a fix for the APHE but people rejected it.

Higher angles of impact do introduce great chances to shatter, sure.

But flat on to the side of a BMP with a conqueror is not that “Higher angles of impact” bit.
