Anyone did better with aim7m? (my best 71km)

it is, if radar is powerful enough

no because the range is limited to 45km no matter what, the AIM-7 could actually hit targets at 60km range but its limited because of the seeker

so u tell me what i did was impossible?

Its not the only thing that limits missile range is launch range and missile guidance time

What are you on about CW seekers have more range than Pulse and DL doesn’t affect range at all the only thing datalink does is allows it to be guided without a constant radar lock

Datalink on something like the R27R/ER allow the missile to communicate with the radar directly and allow it to hit further targets. Just because the radar in the plane sees something, dosnt mean the seeker on the missile does

I fully believe that you did, im just saying that it shouldnt be able to

Wheres your proof that it cant

dont you think what more powerful plane redar should not only detect targets further but also create stronger radar beam what will make targets reflect stronger signal which missile can pick up further away

if you want we could test it out in custom

Seeker limited, but launching by F-15 or F-14 gives you advantage in CW range over F-16 for example

i’ve done like a 60k something when they first changed it to actually perform

you have at least a screenshot? ive seen some claim 70km but they just lie

60km is possible, at least in F-15/14 with 25kft altitude

im trying that rn

it is i just did 62km

and… a 71km shot… im done at this point, i found the limit.

i haven’t got a screenshot on me but i can check when im back in country if i do, it was when the F-15A released/ not long after when they changed the aim7s if i find it i’ll lyk

chill, i believe you since i just did 71 km…

They changed seeker(actually radar CW)
So, at release it was unable to lock targets from far away

Im really bad at describing it but basically the CW seekerhead is limited to a range of ~45km,
