Antelope is horrible at 10.3

Antelope only gets 4 missiles, no radar, no smokes, and no gun. The PGZ04 at 9.3 gets smokes, quad-gun, 4 missiles, and a radar. The Antelope has scouting which is nice since it has an 8 foot mast and the missiles are accurate but slow and easily get out-ran by Strela missiles even if you fire first. The Antelope needs a buff or get lowered to 9.7. Even at 9.7 I struggle to find a reason why it is overall better than the PGZ.

well the 4 missiles will be fixed next update at least, light tanks will be able to drop ammo boxes for SPAA.

At least you get the Tor at top tier,. the Type 81 is top tier for Japan and it’s equally bad.

I agree, Antelope should be decreased in BR, maybe just to 10.0.
The relatively slow speed of the missiles is not a problem, neither is the lack of guns. Missiles are very strong, almost every launch is a kill or severe damage.
The real issue is the missile lock range. The maneuverability and the IRCCM of the missiles is outstanding. However, the MAXIMUM all-aspect lock range is 3 kilometres(with rear aspect being 6km) and even less against helicopters.
Which makes staying out of the range of Antelope very easy. Even unaware targets using unguided munitions often can’t be intercepted until after making a pass. Furthermore, against helicopters, Antelope is almost completely useless.

It’s all the same tactic again as with PGZ04 of hiding behind a building until in range. Which isn’t risky at the BR, but also not effective either.

This thing looks oddly similar to the Chaparral but just wore a different pant lol

Fixed is a stretch, it will only have 8 missiles in total with ammo boxes, since you’re not allowed to replenish more than double your ammo load. For instance an ADATS (8 total missiles) can only replenish 8 missiles from ammo boxes before it stops it from replenishing them.

4 standard and 4 in a box is not a good missile count in the slightest…

8 missiles is a workable amount, I consider it as middling. More than the average amount of air targets (excluding drones) I recall encountering in battles at the BR. Personally, I think the ammunition box should not be added due to it not being realistic at all.

Workable amount yes, but I still consider it to be on the low end.

that is only one box, there will probably be several dropped by light tanks for SPAA.

I don’t believe it works that way.

please dont compare the type 81 with the antelope, the type 81 missiles actually work, the ones of the antelope are actually broken, as in literally wrongly coded.

I thought light tanks just got one ammo box each that they could deploy anywhere?

no, light tanks doesnt even have them, only spaag, sams and atgm carriers use them

All tank destroyers and SPAA get them. Its funny bc the T95 gets them lmfao

tanks destroyers also gets them? i though that it was just the atgm carriers

Nope, all tank Desiree’s (which is what ATGM carriers tend to be classed as) receive them as well. Its likely an oversight.

Calling the Type 81 (C) bad is just… bruh. The missiles will always hit the target, unless you fire from way too close or too off-bore or the enemy makes them hit the ground. High flying planes have absolutely no way of dodging them. The only real weakness is low flying helicopters with IRCM. The missiles being fire and forget is a great perk as well.

You can’t hit anything up close because of this random delay that doesn’t apply to Russian SPAA for some reason, at range it won’t lock, helicopters are also impossible and anything low flying causing you missile to nosedive into the ground.

You still get the best lock-on range out of all the IR SAMs iirc. As for hitting low flying targets, as long as the enemy isn’t flying into the ground (or a heli hugging the ground), the missiles will hit. It is the most capable IR SAM in the game right now, on par or even better than some top tier IR AAMs.

The Israeli Drakon isn’t much better, I’d rather have an Ozelot lmao
