There is a production variant of the T-80U that did get thermals though. Its just not that common. Its called either T-80UE1 or T-80UM, I forgor which model is represented in game.
Edit: I think it might be the T-80UM as the T-80UM looks exactly like the T-80U w/ thermals in game.

Yeah that’s probably it, and that gives absolutely no indication on gameplay experience. if you turn on camera angle it’s literally green down to 83 degrees…

the germans asked for d tech armor, or atleast same armor as the much older 122b+ armor but they didnt get them.
the americans asked for the real armor, instead they got a useless 5 secs reload, making italy, israel, and britain mains (ariete, merkava, challenger) in shambles right now.
devs somehow gave the brits a grippen, ignoring the dire need for proper multirole competition in the german tree (the dutch f16AM) and instead gave us a downgraded tornado with default bombs.

I’m sorry man, both the American, and Chinese communities are getting the unfair works right now. Not even including the horrid they’ve done to the French and Italian communities, god knows how many very well described reports the French mains put out for the Leclerc, as well as the UK and Israeli disregard. While they gave the German community the vehicle they wanted, they gimped it at its inception. This is absolutely ridiculous.
Edit: While I know the US got the reload buff and a possible M829A3 (which sounds like they will model incorrectly granted its “not much of a performance upgrade” essentially over the M829A2 which is bs since it has an anti-era tip), the reload was not necessary whatsoever. Just fix the armor man, attempting to placate the USA community with a reload buff to not address the issue at hand. Not to mention the complete failure to fully model the ERA on the VT-4A1 and other MBT, fix the well documented issues of the Challenger’s, the stupid constant reference of the Swedish trials from the 90’s, etc. Ffs.

So the Abrams being one of the best battle proven MBTs in the world with a estimated KD of 11.5 to 1 is not going to gets its DU upgrade, despite the many reports in this forum proving it and there being HUNDREDS of easily googleable accounts of these very upgrades.

The reason I think that gaijin is adding many sub variants of the M1A2 is because without them top tier ground US wouldn’t have a lineup. This is unrequired for the Soviets/Russians as they have many top mbts.

The Abrams doesn’t have better protection but has increased weight by 10 tons? How come? Maybe you can just remove those 10 tons if you think it didn’t get its protection !

Boi, I love the Leclerc. Playing as France is great they have such solid vehicles and unique contraptions. When it comes to modern vehicles like the Leclerc they’ve been gimped since they were added all over a report from the 90’s when the tank was still being worked on and not even accepted by the French Army. They never stood a chance from the developers. Absolutely insane
