Another way to see a warning for a nuke in ground battles

Its further arcadization of the gameplay for no real benefit. We already have siren, and also chat (which, okay that one hinges entirely on teammates).

Okay so if theres a person who lost both his arms and legs in freak lathe accident but he really REALLY wants to play warthunder, should he adjust to the game as it is, or should the game adjust to him at expense of EVERYONE ELSE?

It doesnt matter what the adjustments are, question is whenever said person should adapt to game as it is.

I wish there was a way to know there’s a nuke while you are in a plane. The siren only plays near the map center and if you’re circling around it hunting for CAS, you have no way of knowing, unless a teammate says something about it

Have you considered competing in the Olympics with your jumping to conclusion ability?

Absolutely but unfortunately i cant attend as theres scheduling conflict with Jerkmate World Championships.

comparing someone with bad hearing with someone with no arms or fully disabled sounds silly. Common sense they can’t play WT, as for the other, I’ve met players with bad to no hearing who play WT here.

So the reason you don’t want this is because it makes the game feel more arcadish lol valid reason to not want it, but still ain’t enough to stop such a suggestion. What “other” reasons do you not want this icon? How will it affect ground gameplay in a negative manner? So far I do not see this affecting Ground Battles at all in any negative way.

In real life events, if there were a nuke warning, not only will we get sirens but also warning messages on most devices. Having an icon on our screen would be no different imo.

war thunder aboutta be a cod lobby

it already is

Ad Absurdum even?

Nothing like checking my iPhone for nuke alert while driving IS-3, duking it out with a Maus.

It significantly reduces survivability of a nuke carrier if CAP is present by ensuring CAP player knows nuke has spawned 100% of the time.

Radio broadcasts. A form of alerting players as well. Almost every vehicle had some sort of radio communication, including air crafts.

Also increases other friendlies to escort the nuke. I seen many J out to get on a jet just to escort, along with enemies doing the same just to take out the nuke.

It’s not unreasonable to include accessibility options, there are a lot more hard of hearing individuals than those that are quadriplegics. Any sort of introduction of a visual nuke alarm wouldn’t be at everyone’s expense because everyone would receive the same nuke alarm. It would be akin to the feature where spawn-campers are highlighted on the map when they enter the spawn zone, you could just as easily hear the enemy engine sounds from the spawn but you have a visual indicator placed on the map.
In this instance you would be able to hear the nuke alarm but a visual indicator would still be very useful to not just the hard of hearing but generally as well.

options, as optional, is crucial here - such option can not however present actual gameplay advantage over people that play normally. I should not be put at disadvantage just because someone has poor hearing.

except at the expense of player who got the nuke as it would automatically inform any enemy aircraft with 100% accuracy about his presence, eliminating any option for the nuke to sneak up on the battlefield.

except with nuke alarm, you turn this logic backwards - now you tell the air spawncampers that theres a nuke sitting on the airfield, waiting to be shot down. you are helping the players that already have the advantage and making the game harder for the player whos in disadvantaged position.

thing you can do without nuke alarm alerting enemy CAP planes about incoming nuke.

also escorting nuke is pointless - enemy CAP can just suicide rush the nuke carrier ignoring the escort all together.

What helps nuke is stealth, and fighter planes either taking the attention of enemy team on themselves, or achieving air superiority.

That is also an argument to have an icon pop up warning you when an enemy is nearby.

You cant hear the engine in those cases either.

I wouldn’t say pointless to escort, I’ve been saved from aircrafts due to being escorted before many times. If they failed to escort then they failed to escort, too bad. I also had to use gunners on bombers to shoot them going head on before they do too much damage where i lose control.

What also helps is flying low unless one is on a bomber.

yup, there are cases where the Nuke Alarm didn’t go off till it was close leaving us little to no time to react.

That was a bug because they coded the alarm to not go off unless the nuke plane was “flying”.
When you spawn, until you get some alt (like 100m or so) you did not get the “take off” reward which meant you were not “flying” in the eyes of the code.

I believe this has been fixed but i could be wrong.

I actually quite like this idea

Playing grb without sound or music so loud you can barely hear is a gigantic disadvantage and makes you practically half blind.

staying close to the bomber, ie. escorting, makes both the bomber and the escort vulnerable to enemy interceptors. enemy CAP needs to be intercepted BEFORE it intercepts the nuke carrier, not during and certaily not after.

anyway, back to the original point - adding such “nuke alert” to the game would only lead to nuke being intercepted more regularly. Nuke carriers in their current state rely on stealth, which includes but its not limited to, flying low.

Nuke alert would take that away from them, as now the enemy CAP does not have to rely on team to communicate to them that nuke carrier is active, but they have nice convenient alert in their UI.

Argument that it would make more team mates fly escort is pointless, as team mates can easily see if someone is in nuke carrier by simply looking at the score board.

Sure, nuke alert would make the gameplay ever so slightly more convenient for players not only willing to, but having SP to spawn in an escort plane (and those that need to be compensated for their bad hearing for some reason) so that they dont have to open the scoreboard or hear the nuke siren or read the game chat, for the low low price of enemy team knowing exactly when the nuke is deployed, on top of already knowing where it is deployed.

yeah looks like a good idea
