In this major update, they have made a few minor changes to the Typhoon. They nerfed the CM count and gave it an updated damage model. That is it. There were no other changes of note.
Im not asking for anything major here, just a reminder that there are a number of minor issues that have not been addressed yet, none of which would really impact balance, so denying them on those grounds is just a bit… wierd.
The Typhoon has a number of issues, but I just want to draw attention to a selection to hopefully get fixed this major update.
- Cockpit
The Cockpit is a total mess right now, with a number of basic issues that were reported in the first dev server for it, let alone the second.
The HUD is currently distorted and stretched, which actually affects some of the MFDs and cockpit displays too.

The HUD is also missing its UV filter

and there are issues with the EEGS

Fixing these 3 would go a long way to fixing the mountain of reported issues for the cockpit, the full list is a lot more extensive.
All Bugs relating to the Cockpit
- BOL
BOL is one of the Typhoon’s primary CMs, and it is massively nerfed currently. It has been for over 2 years now and affects every aircraft. It is time to either restore BOL to what it was before or actually model BOL accurately.
- Instructor & FM
Whilst there is multiple accepted reports for the Typhoon’s FM underperforming, the main issue is the instructor. It creates a great deal of instability and the aircraft drains energy at an extreme rate partially as a result. This makes the aircraft way harder to fly at times in ARB than it does in ASB which simply shouldnt be the case. The instructor needs to be looked at and fixed ASAP. I would suspect that the rudder needs a buff too to aid resolving this issue.
- Air-to-Air Weaponry
This is one of the main handicaps for the Typhoon currently and I could ask for Aim-120Ds, or better IR missiles, but in this im just going to say that the Aim-9M and Aim-120B/C5 have a number of bug reports being ignored. They need to be resolved. But I want to draw attention to a single report for this section. The ammo in the 27mm. What we currently have is the ammo belts from the Tornado. Armed with belts designed more for ground attack, including practice rounds. What the Typhoon should have is the same belts found on the Gripen, which instead uses PELE-T rounds. The belts are modeled, the rounds are in-game, just pick the right one for the Typhoon.

- Air-to-Ground Weaponry.
This is where the Typhoon is the most handicapped. It is missing its principle Air-to-Ground weapon in the form of Brimstone, and Gaijin is hellbent on artifiically nerfing the Brimstone and going as far as to make up reason why it shouldnt be added. Such as denying Mode 2 because it would kill teammates, which is just absurd. They still haven’t even added later models of the Brimstone in a SAL only configuration, which would be a huge buff for what is already the weakest weapon at top tier.
There are also a number of other missing weapons, such as AKPWS, Spear-3, Storm Shadow/Taurus, etc etc. That could all help fill the void of the currently absent Brimstone.
These issues need to be addressed, it is time for Gaijin to stop pretending the Typhoon doesn’t exist and actually start actioning a few of its many many bug reports, I beleieve the current total of accepted reports is well over 100 in all.
