This is just a reminder to the devs, you still haven’t restored BOL. It is artificially nerfed significantly for the purposes of nerfing the Gripen when it was first added, and in doing so, any and all aircraft that rely upon BOL also got heavily nerfed. 2+ years on now and nothing, it is still artificially nerfed. This goes against everything they have ever claimed and even in official responses.
However, BOL was changed, in a non-realistic way, for the sake of balance. So? Which statement is actually true?

It was written over a year ago now and posted to the dev forum where it got the better part of a 1000 votes and yet, still nothing has changed.
But for a quick TLDR breakdown for anyone not wanting to read it:
Chaff is currently set to 1/4 the performance of regular chaff for unknown reasons. It should be on-par if not slightly better than regular chaff
Flares are complicated, but put simply. They have around half the luminosity of a regular flare, with a reduced burn time, but they should actually be more like a large calibre flare with a reduced burn time. Though they are not actually flares.
Restoring BOL would go a long way to buffing a number of aircraft that needs buffs, including one being added this major update with the F-14D.
Well, the issue here is that Gripen is still in the game, and they’ll sooner fix the challengers than buff anything that might make the Gripen competitive.
The difference though is that the Gripen can no longer run pure flares. It needs chaff. And with the burn time reduction it got too, you cant just drop a flare every few seconds.
The meta has changed entirely and the problem no longer exists.
and if the Gripen A is somehow still problematic (and it would only be the Gripen A) just remove 2x BOL from it. That leaves 2 which is more than enough with its internal CM load as well.
