Announcing the Removal of the R2Y2 from Research

fellas I grinded for 3-4 days with the J6K1 and now i have V1 and V2 and put research points into V3 so this entire conversation is abundant for me. I would suggest for you all who want it to do the same as long as it is still there

It is not. From document we know that 5 non-completed hulls got 50% of ready. No concrete what variant of Ho-Ri it was but because of existing the Ho-Ri II blueprints and easier design similar to Chi-Ri, mostly that hulls were Ho-Ri II

Honestly I’m interested in the Ho-Ri II being added to the game.

Hm… they want to remove one type of aircraft and what a fuss there is about it… well, I’m also playing Japanese machines now, so I can at least have a V1 in my collection… :-)))

I don’t think anyone’s complaining.

So mine are secured, right? No need to buy them before the date?

This is only 1 variant of the Ho-Ri. There were 3 In total.

Same rules as the Maus or any vehicles of the sort->1 rp into it=safe from being hidden. Though honestly Gaijin should just be hiding V2 and V3 not V1.

It’s because the R2Y2 V1 has historical proof of being possible to build since very little between the propeller R2Y1 and R2Y2 V1 were different, and the engines were already being produced. Peoples counterargument is that it wasn’t mounted, however that’s only cause we do not have documentation of it ever been mounted nor pictures which wasn’t too surprising considering by this time it was far harder to document everything with the only documentation we know of was a napkin of the jet engines being planned or possibly mounted.

By “The Ho-Ri” I presume they are referring to the version that ended up reaching the prototype stage. The other two are acknowledgeable but due to never progressing past the drawing board/scale model phase they are irrelevant for the game’s purposes.

@Stona_WT I assume that if I have the aircraft fully researched, but not bought it will still remain available for me

That is correct, any amount of research into the vehicles will keep it in your inventory, similar to when Maus returns annually.

yes, even if it is not fully research, you need at least 1 rp point, and you can finish it anytime.

I can finally go back to flying german and italian planes for axis without feeling FOMO.

Nice work

I am still waiting for replacement aircrafts for these… How long will it take for them to give us 3 new aircraft with four 30mm cannons? AFAIK the only feasable candidates would be Ki-201 partly built and J7W2 which the J7W1 was tested wuld have used the same engine as Ki-201 that never arrived which means they never got to design the J7W2 despite it was planned as next step from the very beginning!

In his own words, Kiyohara wrote, “At the ‘Shinden’ Prototype plan requirements in 5th of June 1944. Air Technical Arsenal’s engine department instructed, ‘Proceed with the design taking into consideration the use of a gas turbine engine.’”

Can we please get these two to fill the R2Y2 shaped hole in our hearts? Rank V is a barren wasteland… :<

The next part piqued my interest.

‘In War Thunder, we want to include vehicles that were complete and built; either in full, in the prototype phase or in the experimental phase. Much like the removed German ground vehicles in 2019’

Please not lie when talk about removed German ground vehicles.

  • If you take research about the removed german vehicles u will be realize only Coelian , Tiger II H (10,5 cm)made from wood mock up.(But tiger ii H already exist so his 10,5 cm gun equiped variant use a same hull. Like many OBJ tank or even OSTWIND II and his premium variant(which never exists.))
-Maus already in factory product and Soviet army captured his ready/self destroyed examples. It proofed with many variety of picture which made by the soviet army.
  • Panther II captured by the US forces and its hull currently exhibited in museum with a Panther G turret and gun. Variety of sources also mentioned the schmalturm turret production plan and his ready prototypes.
schmalturm turrent exibited in Bovington tank museum:

So based on Vehicle experience the true remove reason is:
-Coelian: That was the only armored/heavy armored SPAA and fighters can’t eliminated his. also clear the sky from CAS.
-Tiger II H 10,5cm: Tiger 2 with more power ful gun , not fit that concept.
-Maus: In 2019 they not able to balance it. When it fight in highter BR it was a cancer, when it fight his own BR and against lower BR it’s immortal.
-Panther II : This tank need to know how to handle it because it explode from one shot, but in RB it too OP if use an experienced hand…

…but easy to blame it ‘they removed because they never existed’…

the tiger 2 10.5cm doesn’t really fit well in the Tiger 2 turret that’s the main problem with it

G8N1 and G5N1 missing their x2 2000lb’s/x1 4000lb

Ki-200 being a frankenstein plane, J8M1 Stats but fusolage of the Ki-200

would be nice to get J8M1 and Ki-200 rather than a kitbashed frankenstein

There’s so much wrong here I don’t even know where to begin…

I’ll give you that the Coelian is debatable… but there is still an argument to be made that it was never built and that could justify its removal.

The Panther II in game was outright fake, like WoT level BS.

Tiger II hull existed yes but there was never a 10.5 cm gun mounted to the turret nor was a Tiger II hull ever purpose built for the 10.5 cm variant.

Maus was not removed for historical reasons and Gaijin never claimed it to be. They themselves said it was too hard to balance.

I think you need to reread the exact requirements for ground vehicles to be added to the game or you will stay misinformed.
