History: The ANBO IV is a reconnaissance plane made by Lithuania. It saw a more advanced version in the ANBO 41 introduced and served alongside it.

The design of the ANBO IV was supervised by Colonel Antanas Gustaitis. In 1932 July 14th the prototype of the ANBO IV equipped with a wasp engine had conducted a successful test flight. The ANBO IV then had 13 more aircraft made, this time with Bristol Pegasus II engines.

In early 1937, the ANBO 41 had entered service and continued production until 1939. The ANBO IV and ANBO 41 both served in thier respective reconisence squadrons. Overall around 14 ANBO IVs (including a prototype) and 20 ANBO 41s were made.

From the 25th of June to the 19th of July 1934, three ANBO-IVs: No. 63 (Col. Lt. Eng. A. Gustaitis, Capt. J. Namikas), No. 62 (Capt. J. Liorentas, Itn. R. Marcinkus), No. 61 (Itn. J. Mikėnas, Mech. K. Rimkevičius) flew around Europe on a 10,000 km route with landings to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, London, Paris, Marseille, Rome, Udine, Vienna, Prague, Budapest, Bucharest, Kiev, Moscow, Velikiye Luki and Kaunas. All 3 aircraft had reached each destination and returned with no issues.

When the USSR annexed Lithuania, they also obtained all the ANBO IV and 41s (barring the 2 41s which had crashed). Germany would also go on to capture at least 1 ANBO 41 and use it for liaison and training. No ANBO IV or 41 seemed to have survived the war. It is also unclear if any ANBO IVs were used in any combat scenario.
