HISTORY
BAE Systems is an British defence and aerospace company wich is based in London, England. Its the largest defence contractor in Europe and the largest manufacturer in England wiith a long history in bulding of Ships, planes and armored vehicles.
The Norwegian company Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace is one of three companies under the Kongsberg group and is a continuation of Kongsberg Våpenfabrikk. Kongsberg makes products for both defense and aerospace, and has over a number of years developed a number of very successful products such as the Naval Strike Missiles, Penguin asw to mention a few and the market leading protector series, featuring multiple families of remote controlled weapon stations and turrets , which countries all over the world have already started integrating on their vehicles and vessels even.
This vehicle is an Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle - AMPV from BAE Systems, with an turret from Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, the vehicle was first seen at the 2024 AUSA - Association of the United States Army event held in October. This is an prototype and from my knowlegde after studying it, these two companies has worked together to create this combination, BAE Systems with the vehicle and Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace with the weapon station. This vehicle is the only prototype in this combination.
The AMPV vehicle is an vehicle usa intended to replace the older m113 vehicles, and is equipped better armor and systems, such as reactive armor, air condition, fire suppression system. in mid 2023 BAE systems was awarded the contract of continuing to manufacture this vehicle. This is a cheap and good vehice, wich there is five variants of.
The vehicle underwent evaluations by the American army earlier in 2024 alongside the AMPV NEMO (Mortar turreted variant) wich it completed a couple months ago in October. The evaluations were done at the Yuma Test Center.
IN GAME
This could be quite an interesting vehicle in the game, Its equipped an powerful 30x173mm cannon wich can punch trough most of the enemies it faces, in addition to being able to attack heavier armed vehicles with the 127mm javelin missile it carries.
