That’s because you have apfsds loaded into the breech
You really don’t need to switch to HEATFS for a BMP-2M
It looks like you’re a bit newer to ground.
For every cannon in the game, you need to shoot in order to switch ammo type regardless of what ammo type it is
Only SOME ATGM slingers are an exception, this includes the M3A3 Bradley and Wiesel 1A2 (The TOW launcher)
No like… old times you can immediately switch to any type of shell iirc when youre done loading

Currently taking the round you have in the breech out and swapping to another round like in WoT or just in real life is not possible.
Would be cool to see added, but it’s probably not a super high priority addition

Its not done IRL. That video is from a range gunnery training. Some guns like Soviet 125mm and British 120mm can’t be easily unloaded at all. In combat you “unload” the gun by firing it.

Yeah… I would not be in a hurry to stick my arm into the breech/autoloader assembly up to the shoulder to fish out the front half of the 2 piece ammo while the system is powered on…
I know it has some sort of un-loading system, but I’m pretty sure it’s just for safing the gun at the end of operations, not changing the round mid combat.
