After WWI, tanks became a fixture of European battlefields, but the US, mostly because of the local geographic conditions, was not as impressed with the whole idea. That’s why, at the start of WW2, the American army found itself in a pretty precarious place as their tanks were simply not adequate to the tasks at hand.
