My issue stems from the American f18 being at 12.7 and suffering from being underpowered in its br compared to the German f18 at the same br, it suffers from having a worse radar, and less countermeasures but still finds itself at the same br as its counterpart.
The German f18 is in a good spot, the American f18 is not and suffers greatly. I thought the point of br placement was to have comparable aircraft be facing each other, the f18 and f20 tigershark are in such a poor spot.
I don’t think it would be outrageous for the American f18 to go down to 12.3 where it can perform slightly better. In a full uptier it will still be outclassed but at least have a chance.
The radar’s are identical despite the naming difference. The only thing the German one has over the u.s. one is double the cm, which is a fair complaint, but its not nearly enough to get the American one moved down imo.
They’re literally not though. If you play them you can immediately tell the difference it makes. Don’t try to overshadow that fact with an unsubstantiated claim.
I agree that if they simply made the American f18 the same as the German one it would fix the problem. However that would require a name change as well because the American is listed as f18c early, while the German is listed as f18c hornet. Changing the American name along with the other changes would fix any complaints anyone has about it.
So you have a problem with the german f18 being slightly better than the american f18c, but you have no problem with the american F18C being the same BR as the American F18A and just being a way better jet?
the 12.3 F-18 is undertiered, meaning it’s too low of a br
The 12.7 one could easily go higher if it got better IR missiles.
60 countermeasures is fine.
Considering we have a MiG-29 with SPO-15 at 13.3 with also 60 countermeasures, F-16s at 13.3 with 45 and the J-15 at 14.7 with 48.
They’re effectively the same plane, one just has extra countermeasures.
Both of those 12.7 F-18s are some of the best 12.7 aircraft, only surpassed by the F-15A/J which went down from 13.0.
Yes it would be outrageous. They’re fine at their current br. The issue is the br compression and pilot skill issue, not the plane.
