not in files as far as im aware

theres a lot of stuff not in files. but that doesnt mean that gaijin doesnt have it.
but at same time it can be

Last time we requested the sniper pod for the A-10C we got told it was too powerful compared to the other options. I have seen another report asking for the same thing. That is now told it was sent as a suggestion.

I’m going to just copy and paste what I wrote in another thread:

I do not agree with Gaijin’s implementation of the F-15E/I. They claim the F-15 would be too strong in both ARB and GRB with the 229 engines and AGM-65Ds, but instead of adjusting the FMs or whatever they decide to give the best ARB performing F-15 to Israel alone and then give the best GRB F-15 to the USA alone.

This does not fix the balancing issue. This creates two outliers in their respective gamemodes. True balance would be making the two vehicles identical - that is giving the F-15I the AGM-65D and giving the F-15E its F100-PW-229 engines.

I am all for the Israeli F-15I getting Mavericks if it means the F-15E can get its proper PW-229 engines. I would much rather BOTH nations have fun with their F-15s than one having their fun in ARB only and the other in GRB only.

Before anyone mentions the specific squadron we have not getting the PW-229 engines in their F-15Es until the 2020s, reminder that they eventually got their PW-220s replaced by PW-229s anyways. I do not care that X squadron’s F-15E that we have in game did not have said engines when the vast majority of F-15Es at the time (~2010 due to JHMCS and GBU-39s) had PW-229s. In my opinion the only vehicles that should be 100% historically accurate should be premiums or event vehicles with specific identifications.

i believe they should give it Popeyes or SPICE due to the F-15I not carrying AGM-65’s

Personally, F-15I Ra’am from dev server equipments mix 2016 ~ present

Baz Meshupar from dev server too. I think

Personally, I might hope gajin add F-15D Baz. AN/APG-63 PSP radar and IR missile AIM-9L & Python 3 like Baz Meshupar but medium-range Air-to-Air Missile limited AIM-7M Sparrow, armed Python 4 and guided Air-to-Ground munitions limited GBU-15(V)1/B

AGM-142 Popeye and SPICE 2000 replace GBU-8 on Baz Meshupar

i just wan the R2D2 behind the canopy

While it is unfortunate that the Israeli one cannot take the mavericks, 25% thrust is just a huge difference. Especially when you consider that these aircraft are designed to be entirely reliant on speed to survive, and will be carrying some of the heaviest payloads in the game, the maverick issue is just not enough to justify keeping the 220 in the Strike Eagle.

Furthermore, this version of the Strike Eagle didn’t last very long in service of the US Air Force with the 220 engine. it is true that one particular unit didn’t have all of their aircraft upgraded to the 229 until the 2000’s, they were no longer even producing the Eagles without the 229 by the year 1991, which is 6 years prior to the production of the israeli Eagle.

Such a historically and culturally important aircraft should be represented more fairly in the game, especially in this context.

its just the issues when bringing up historical topics like this, there really isnt much evidence, only some here or there.

There seems to be a number of people under the misconception that, since production on the F-15Es started with them having the 220 engine, that those with the weaker engine were common. The fact is that Boeing started exclusively producing them with the 229 in 1992, 6 years before the production of the F-15I.

These are 2010’s variants of both of these aircraft, using weapons as advanced as 2006, and with the JHMCS only coming to the aircraft at the earliest in 2010. In fact, very few of these engines remained in the aircrafts by that point.

Now, there are people referencing a specific unit or a specific individual aircraft that did not receive the 229 engine until like 2 years ago. That is not a good faith argument on the historical validity of it keeping the 220 engine in game, because it is obvious cherry picking.

If out of the 400+ Strike Eagle airframes produced, you can only point to a couple of individual airframes that actually had the 220 engine around this timeframe, then it is not a fair representation of the aircraft in game for it to keep the 220 engines. It truly needs to have the 229 engine in it.

we do have a good amount of evidence from actual testimony to official statements from boeing/Pratt & Whitney on the matter though.

Thank you Smin. You’re the goat as always

  1. could you link that
  2. i know you’ll have to take my word for it but i asked an F-15E pilot who flew in the 2000’s and he told me his entire AFB was still operating with 220’s

Main joke - Ra’am gets more CMs. In my opinion thats enough to justify lacking of Maverics, especialy against pantsir.
With TGP equipped US one gets only 120cms(must be 120flares and 120chaffs), Israel gets 240(must be 240flares, 120chaffs). 120 CMs on toptier, and theyre small caliber… well, thats not really good option

Any somewhat capable pantsir player won’t give a shit about a plane having 120 or 240 countermeasures though.

Well, against pantsir was about AGM-65’s
Maverics are just useless against pantsir with 2 braincells at least.

still more useful than LGBs and such, especially now that you can easily destroy them with missiles.

Don’t get me wrong I still think the F-15E should get the -229 engines, but at the same time I think the 15I should get a maverick style weapon as well.

Well, also fair point.

Maybe search for some GBU-15 with Amraams/other A-A weapons?
Idk what will glide better in that comparison even
