With America’s 250th coming up soon Gaijin has anounced 2 special packs for the occasion.
The XM-1 Chrysler and the USS Bennion and this is great!
However it seems Gaijin is excluding PS players from the festivities because the packs will not be made availbe on the PS store which is a real shame.
It is not like Gaijin has not managed to bring very temporary packs for special occasions to the PS store in the past, they managed to do it with the P-38K, T-34 Prototype, German Sherman and a few Esports packs so i can’t imagine it is sony being the problem this time.
It really does suck to be excluded from a special pack sale like this
@gromvoiny if you are still the primary person to adress about these questions regarding store packs can you explain why the choice to exclude PS players from this?

gaijin cant do any sales in console unless the respective company allows it.
So, bennion isnt available on xbox either and hasn’t been for at least 5 years, so both platforms are being left out

If Gaijin has managed to bring the P-38K, T-34 prototype and German Sherman pack to the PS store for special occasions alongside some E sports packs, all of which were very very temporary i doubt the issue is sony this time.

Yes and why would these packs be any different unless Gaijin made the decision to put them up last minute?
It is not as if sony doesn’t like money either and they take a cut from the sale.
Pretending as if it is just sony’s fault every time seems as just an easy excuse to deflect.
Should also be noted, for special occasion bundles in the past that they could not be bothered with trying to get them in the PS store like for example a few of the WW2 special bundles or the blackfriday ones the vehicles were made availabe for GE aswell but that is also not being done.
now is probably not the time that sony wants stuff on sale.
What is more likely?
A: Sony wants to move the sale to a certain time because they think they can get more sales
B: gaijin hates console players and would rather lose sales than sell them stuff
these packs are not on sale, they are regular priced packs.
Do you think sony is telling Gaijin “no you can’t put more merchandise in our store front that will sell and make us more money!”? the same sony that released the update packs a day in advance, that sony?
And even if that were the case, which i doubt.
In the past at times when they had special bundle packs that included vehicles that could not but obtained regularly they would be made available for GE without a discount, this was for example done with Botwick’s P-47M this year with the aniversary of WW2 that is how i obtained it.
Even that isn’t being done.
So it sure does feel like B but instead of hate i’d replace it with apathy or uncaringness.

no they won’t, they already specifically confirmed the PS store won’t get them at all.

Gaijin managed to bring special packs or temporary packs into the PS store for the WW2 anniversary sale this year and even made the individual vehicles in the bundle available for GE, they managed to bring the P-38K back on sale for random occasions, they managed to bring the T-34 prototype and German Sherman into the PS store for the game’s anniversary 3 years ago. they made the contents of the blackfriday sale bundles available for GE when those couldn’t or didn’t come to the PS store.
But for the 250th of america they won’t bring the packs to the PS store.

considering sony’s recent decisions, im not surprised if they chose to screw over their customers yet again.
I am sorry but to blame this on sony feels completely non-sensical.
“hey sony we have more merchandise we could sell in your store front and you get a cut”
“no thanks i don’t like money despite having let you do this before, having released your packs a day before your game updated and loving money”
The least Gaijin could do is make the vehicles available for GE to PS players even without a discount so we can atleast join in the festivities.
It seems that not even the Xbox players can get their former exclusives anymore, the Bennion isn’t even available to them.

this is not even a decent argument. if i give you permission to enter my house after you ask, that doesnt mean you are now free to enter it whenever you please.
ironically, sony seems to be saying that with their “we are not going to make discs anymore” thing. lol
I mean considering the dlc for bennion still exists on the xbox store (you cannot purchase it) it not being available is all the more annoying
to be fair, outside of america it isnt really that big of a thing.

im sure there are better ways to celebrate the event outside of spending money on a video game.
It shows that they can do it, they have done it many times before and even so there is a workaround like they did for the black friday packs but just making the vehicles availabe for GE, if the XM-1C was available for like 9090GE or whatever i would buy it in an instant and people would still buy the pack because that is still the better deal for most players.
Explain to me how this has anything to do with a purely digital product to be added on the storefront
