Almost 2027 and Russia still doesnt have a top tier light tank / IFV

We are almost at the end of 2026 and Russia still doesn’t have a top tier light tank / IFV. The best we have is the BMP-2M and 2S25M.
At this point most nations that can get their light tank / IFV already have it. USA has HSVTL, Germany has PUMA, UK has AJAX, China has VT-5, Italy has KF41 and Centuro 2, France has EBRC Jaguar, Sweden has CV90T 120 and CV-90 mkIV while Israeli has Namer and Eitan.

So its only fair that Russia should get theirs, that being T-15 Armata.

Its built on T-14 Armata hull, with the AU-220M Baikal remote weapon station armed with a 57mm and Kornet ATGMs. It has an APS system and has a top speed of 70km

the t15 isnt really a light tank mate, more comparable to like a BMPT with passenger capacity than anything else

but yes and BTR-90 and K-17 should both come to the game as well

You’re writing this like not having top tier light tanks is a human rights violation, they already have the BMPTs, it’s good enough.

i like light tanks, i dont really care to get high BR russia because there are no light tanks, its really as simple as that

You have 2S38, BMP-2M, and BMPTs (kinda)

Also why you want IFV if we do not have infantry in normal gamemode.

I guess what you want its tank with autocannons and atgm and so you have 2 bmpt.

Im not sure but isnt that thing more like a bmpt with diabetes than a light tank? Would be a nice addition tho

the bmp2m counts imo yes, but the 2s38 is SOOOOO slow, its miserable to play for me
and the BMPTs are cringe and i refuse to play them

yeah idk why that guy wants the T15, it would also be pretty slow as far as i know

Light tanks are not always means fast tanks, not like hstvl its any (considerably) faster.

You have BMD-4 tho and btr82at.

yeah absolutely but some higher BR’d actually fast light tanks would be nice (not that i actually play russia that much)

Without FnF munitions they aint going higher. And Russia doesnt have em on ground.

Define wdym by top tier, due you mean 12.7 or the bracket of 12.7 to 11.7
Also , Ajax is 10.3, if you count that as top tier, then BMP-2M should as well (though that is squadron)
both PUMA VTJ and Jaguar are 11.0, not top tier, Both namer and ethan are 11.3, also not top tier
Only nations that have true top tier light tank are Sweden, US, China and Italy (only if you consider top tier as 12.7 to 11.7)

depending on how the EM is implemented its basically the closest thing they could get though, so might still be like 10.3/10.7 worthy

Where did you get Kornet EM its FnF??

Its the equivalent of a KA-50 guiding a missiles with autotracker.

idk something about an autotracker working from the launcher itself, on an uncrewed turret itd work okay as something close to it

Yeah as I said, its only an autotracker.

You see how spaa do IRST locks on planes? Same but locking ground targets.

You still require line of sight and laser guiding.

You kinda already have this on the kharishtema

yeah but its still the closest thing russia can get, plus depending on how its implemented you might be able to shoot someone else with your gun while the missile goes to its own target

otherwise only high br russian light we could get is one with an APS and then its back to the boring heavy lights again
