I only have air top tier perspective (11.3 games), but it feels very meh to constantly fly mirror matches there. It feels like there is no variety, there’s no vulnerability to protect nor strengths to exploit. It’s nice for 1vs1 duelling to decide who is a better player but it takes one out of the match.
It’s much more fun to have assymetrical strengths and weaknesses as it creates room for intentional teamwork and tactics.
I imagine a similar perspective could translate to ground easily enough, given the same is true at lower BRs (“I’m fighting against a russian tank, they’re uphill from me so I know I can push them as they cannot return fire at this angle!”)
At least at the moment you can prepare your strategy based on vehicle’s you know you could face, in mixed battles you have no way of preparing.
Also engine sounds, it’s bad enough with Leo 2 vs Leo 2 as distinguishing sounds gets really hard, almost impossible for myself as I’m half deaf already.
Sure, but it also causes inbalance in many situations.
That’s a problem with games like these.
You either make it so that everyone uses the same vehicles - which makes it quite stale.
Or you give everybody a variety of options - which can cause metas to arise if balance is not kept (making it unfair for everyone who aren’t using meta, or make it so that everyone is using meta, which is also stale).
Problem is, most nations are facing those OP flavour of the month vehicles, other than the nation that gets those vehicles… and now most nations have copy paste vehicles, like the Leopards (like you said here:
Might as well have everyone face them at this point.
Yup… cries in Italy getting the OSA instead of just moving the OTOMATIC down to 10.7, adding the B1 Draco (which is just cutting the OTOMATIC turret and pasting it onto a Centauro with little other changes), or adding the Grifo
