why tho. t80b and t80u are more fun with thermals, m1a1ha would be more fun with the upgraded armor package. there is reason to add it to both. why would you make the game worse for hyper realistic reason? when we have paper vehicles and one off unfinished prototypes ingame already?
They were only given thermals at the time because of balance and lack of more suitable tanks. If T-90A was introduced when it should have, then those T-80s wouldn’t have needed themals.

But Gaijin standard are clear that prototype and such are ok to be add as a main tech tree vehicles as long as they exist irl.
As KPZ/MBT-70 , Leopard 2K , and such being example.

Yes used. Where, that is the question. Stop providing absolutely ambiguous sources that say ‘ABRAMS use DU armour’. They do, but not in the hulls. U have so far provided no credible source that states other than the 5 in school, any ABRAMS ever mounted DU in hull.

If I was Gaijin, I would introduce it as an event vehicle. Will drive people crazy and sell extremely well in the market afterwards. Provided someone can identify a single of these tanks IRL. But also beware the mobility penalization might be a deal breaker.
On the other hand, don´t expect the armor rating on the front hull to reach even 600mm KE, so in practice the range of APFSDS it will protect against will be very limited. BM42 sure but better Sov/RU APFSDS very surely not.
As far as I can work out DU armour took the KE turret protection from 460 mm to about 650 mm. That’s about a 1.41x improvement.
So if we assume It makes the same improvement to the hull armour it would be 350 mm x 1.41 = 493.5 mm KE.
Yeah I was expecting that much. Would it be worth the tradeoff? Don´t know but plenty of whales would think so which makes this super limited edition tank liable to be introduced as an event vehicle.

yk looking at the abrams hull i think it would have increase thickness, because the original M1 has to be below the 20 inches thickness to mount drivers equipment but since they got an upgrade id say the thickness(as in composite) would have been increase slightly
i think it would be atleast increase 4 more inches of composite, maybe less
and front hull originally was rated around 380mm KE so x1.41 is ~535mm, which is m900 resistance
Even if you go that way, wouldn´t change much vs top tier APFSDS.
I dont think all abrams has DU hull armor, it would make sense for the v3 or maybe v2 to have it but otherwise they arent, what they need to do is fix the current problem of abrams and the annoying volumetric overpressure on gun shield, the bottom line of the turret face and the gunner sights

my conspircary is
the US like the 40/60mm increase gradually so the front hull would have 400mm-480mm composite and the popularize 38.1mm outer steel, as for side armor on turret i think base on how cramped the current abrams are i think they would have a composite increase, probably to the original 360mm composite
thats just what im thinking. And for the roof i think its much thicker than just 2.5cm thick, that i dont think is enough to protect against grenade

the lack of du armor really doesnt mean that there was no armor upgrades, the increases in weight make no sense otherwise, but alas not really relevant. we dont really need better hull armor for sepv2 to be competitive
sepv2 really doesnt need du armor to be competitive. if they fixed tusk and the turret ring it would already be much better, then you add trophy and its even better
