H145M 1

The Airbus Helicopters H145 is a lightweight twin engine multi-role utility helicopter that represents the latest in a long line of successful German helicopter development, including the Bo-105 and BK-117. The H145M has seen widespread use among militaries all over the world with 15 countries operating the type, including by the US Army as the UH-72 Lakota. The H145M has been used in a variety of roles, including light attack, transport and utility, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and maritime security.

The H145M is a versatile military variant that features a thermal optic, missile warning system, a large number of countermeasures, ballistic protection, and the capability to mount a variety of weapons on two external pylons including the Spike ER2 missile, laser-guided and dumb-fire rocket pods, as well as 12.7 and 20 mm gun pods. Two M134D can also be simultaneously fitted as door gunners which can be taken alongside the externally mounted armament. The H145M also features a significant power increase over previous light utility helicopters, featuring two Safran Helicopter Engines Arriel 2E turboshaft engines producing 550 kW each. For comparison, the H145M has a power-to-weight ratio of 0.614 kW/kg while the Bo 105 (already considered a very nimble helicopter) has a power-to-weight ratio of 0.486 kW/kg.

Currently, the German helicopter tree is fairly sparse on content, particularly when it comes to choices at top tier. The addition of the H145M would flesh out the helicopter tree and provide an interesting choice between itself and the Tiger UHT, the H145M having superior missiles and more countermeasures while the Tiger having the mast mounted sight and air-to-air missiles. It could also be introduced in two versions, a more modern five-bladed rotor variant with slightly increased manoeuvrability and load capacity for the tech-tree, and a premium four-bladed Serbian version.

Hey I also found this picture of the H145M with an air to air missile or something similar?

I found out that it’s the ALAS-H but it looks more similar to the ALAS C from Serbia. I couldn’t find anything about the ALAS H but basically every variant is a NLOS one.

Good find, I’ll probably end up making a separate suggestion for the Serbian H-145M.

Suggestion passed to the developers for consideration.
