Doesn’t change the fact that it was balanced (albeit Italy getting shafted with terrible line ups and lack of R-73s on the MiG 29). Now it’s just like that terrible update where the F-15E ran uncontested, and was fighting 12.7s while no one could fight back against their radar and AIM 120s.
Look at the recent ground and combined arms major tournaments lineups, they were far from balanced lol.

Regular 2v2 tournament player here.
Rafale is absolutely OP at the moment alongside the micas, being able to launch them while facing away from the enemy thanks to the new buff to Micas, same reason why there is no Mirage 2000-5F or chinese version.
Broken flight model (too OP too) (this goes for every EF in game)
With the Su-30SM I guess it’s because of the number of missiles, while it is a fat whale that sits at 300kmh after 2 turns, the difference in number of missiles by such a large margin could be the reason.
The F-15E is a very good plane, but it can be countered easy thanks to only having AIM-120 that are not the best, something like a Gripen can perma-notch it and close the gap to go in to a dogfight even, or the Su-27SM with the R-27ER forcing the F-15E to go defensive since the start of the game.
Also, maps are way smaller, the F-15 doesnt have that much time to go into outer space

I just realised its for the 4v4 lineup, not the 2v2, maybe on 4v4 maps the F-15E its a little OP

Alright, let’s try this one: nobody plays Israel in the first place. Look at every tournament ever, they are never relevant and are never mentioned by people reviewing said tournaments. Even in Pubs, Israel is almost never present, beyond their Sakeen, Spitfire, F-15I, Baz, and F-16, and that’s usually just one guy.
After playing a training + a 4v4 tournament, not even the top teams are using the F-15E, the radar is too unreliable and MICA is still the meta
After playing todays 2v2 i can asure you almost no one is playing the F-15E, the meta is Su-27SM and J-10 or x2 J-10
J-10 is the meta? What about South African Grippen with Ar Darters?

I’ve been thinking of doing tournaments, just trying to figure out which countries would be good for it, and what vehicles.
You dont play tournaments?
Quick backstory: back in the day, I used to do (what I call) “Toys R Us tournaments” where we basically just advertised on Facebook and all that and we played CoD and won a few hundred. The guys I used to hang out with (ranging from classmates in school to 40 year old guys who will “make it big”) were a bit of the toxic bunch, with one 28 year old guy telling me I should quit my job so I can practice more. So between that and them freaking out because I preferred the AK over the M4/MP5 loadout, I lost all love for tournaments for gaming, opting to just treat multiplayer as a grind fest, and to mess around in Custom matches with my fully upgraded things.
Now it’s been like five years since I’ve done any of that stuff, and it intrigued me to go back. The problem is, is that:
- I don’t really know much about the meta. Some say Germany is amazing for Ground, others say America, I have even seen advocates for France. Which is all funny because I play Italy and China for Ground (on my main, this account I’m helping out on).
- I still a sour taste in my mouty from the community. It’s one thing to throw slurs and whatnot (I don’t mind this), what I do mind is the whole “quit your job and be a streamer” mindset that I’ve seen a lot.
- My friends have expressed interest, but I just do not believe we are capable of doing… well, they play the Big Three, I play the nations that are never seen in tournaments (Italy and China). As I stated before, I have no idea what the meta for tournaments are, and I have no clue on how they are since I cannot exactly practice.
How is South African Grippen rn?
IIRC, Grippen and M2K, J-10A was meta before Rafale comes.
On ground i have no idea, i dont play it.
In War Thunder half of the tournaments community is retarded and the other half has more ego than blood in his system, in here the best you can do is play with friends just for fun.
As i said, play for fun, the metas for 2v2 is Su-27SM and J-10, for 4v4 is at least 1 Su-27SM for BVR and full Mirage 2000 5F bc of MICAS and maybe 1 British Gripen.
Still worh it, the Rafale and EF-2000 are not coming in to TSS untill the next year at least, both are too OP
