In arcade, few low tier bombers can kill a base with a single drop anyway (in air reload!). If you aim for air base destruction, you can’t just load 4x 50kg, you have to max out your effect on bases. So you only bring enough bombs for at most one base anyway.
That is not a new change, at least in Arcade Ground Battles. And guess when did they implemented it, after events went from task to score based. This was a huge score nerf in general. Before everyone would get the max reward for capturing a point (300 points) and now only the first tank gets the whole reward while the rest only gets a fraction of it depending on how much time they spent capturing it.
Most players don’t realize, but we play this game mostly against Gaijin. Every change that nerfs rewards favours them and hurts the grind.
It’s a new change, at least for sim.
Quoting a few other players who actually made the effort to track their actions:
just played a match and it’s so [] bad. I was in the cap from 0-95%, then strayed out of the grid for 5 seconds or so. Came back in and finished the cap. Only 50 points, kill me now.
Update : I also just sat on the cap and accidentally strayed off it for a few seconds… my reward was 99 points… normally this would be 540 or so.
And I’ll add straying off the cap is very easy in a heated dogfight when it’s a tiny 8x8 square even in props.
It’s not even an event-exclusive issue either - capture points were kind of the segue for new players into getting score even when they’re still working towards getting their first kill and also to reward a wing of players working together even if only one of them gets the kill.
If you check the scoreboard most of the players would have to play for a really long time in order to make score based events, mostly only the top players can do them in a reasonable amount of time.
When before you had a task of capturing points, you would only need to stay in the point while your team was capturing it for a couple of seconds, and it would count as 1 captured point. Now, since events are score based, if you do the same you basically get no score cause only the player that stays the whole time while capturing the point gets the full score. This change only came to the game after events turned from task to score base, their intention on this is pretty clear, force players to play for a longer period of time by nerfing score, same as for the bomb nerf mentioned on this thread.
in air arcade, low tier base bombing was an efficient way to get quick event points. with that now gone, low tier seal clubbing will be much more appealing. unfortunately.
“A bug that caused mission point multipliers for damage and destruction of bases to cease varying from 0.6 to 2.5 depending on vehicle Rank and game mode and become 1 everywhere has been fixed”
So it was all a bug? Is it back to normal now?
Just gave it a spin: It is fixed as far as I could tell. 2.5 times more score.
