Aiming in Air RB

Im a GRB main, and I want to make my air BR (5.0) match my ground BR (9.3) and I have trouble doing leads in ARB. I dont know how much lead I need to aim or any maneuvers to save me. I need help.

Go play Air AB for a while, or even just the PVE Air Assault games to get an idea how much to lead.

The best advice I’ve gotten, which was actually during a match, was this:
“if you think you have a good lead, lead more.”
It sometimes helps when I actually remember it

Shooting at closer ranges can help you with aiming.

You cannot go wrong with Defyn:

It also includes videos on maneuvers.

Particular emphasis on the pitchback/lead displacement/high yoyo to avoid overshooting people. Scissors for getting people off your six.

For practice on leading and shooting you can do the Mission Editor part of the Test Flight. (In a plane that is in your lineup, select Test Flight then lower left you should see a “Mission Editor” button). You can then easily do something like Head-to-Head combat against AI planes. (Remember to keep it in Realistic mode too).

It won’t be as good for practice on combat maneuvers, as the AI is a little easy/slow and more predictable than humans, but it’s just an easy way to get straight in to combat and without costs of losing your plane.

Otherwise, just get in to some early rank airplanes (early rank as they’re cheaper, and turn off auto-repair) and get out in to Air RB battles… no better experience then the real thing :)

Thanks! I’ve been using the single missions to help with my aiming and its been working out

I haven’t actually thought about aiming in a while because after a while it just comes to you, you just “know” when something will hit, but the best thing I’ve learnt is that if your gut tells you you’ll hit, you probably will. Try to keep within a kilometre when firing, preferably under 600 metres. Learn what weapons and ammunition you use (The first round/shell in a belt determines the entire belt’s velocity) and just use one plane excessively to get the velocity down, then using other planes with that weapon becomes easier.
