i’ve checked the replay, he was flying straight, and while it’s true what you say about j7e pulling harder than any mig21 (excluding j7e, which is a double delta) the missile just missed. I also learned how to make sparrows miss; by snaprolling them away. They have weak engines and poor maneuverability and they’re only really effective at head ons or beteween 3 and 8km on high closure rates on people that aren’t notching. From 5km and ahead the sparrow is unlockable if the target is going cold. You have to use SRCH mode, which is very prone to chaff. AIM7E2 seems to have some kind of innertial guidance, because they hit nearly everytime even if they chaff them out after the launch. With F16 SRC they chaff them easily.
I haven’t had an AIM-7 lose track in a long time, largely cause I always launch in correct parameters.
Also you’re the only one to post that either is better than the other, I didn’t comment on full capability.
