The reworked motor section comes with the D-3 under the F3R upgrade
Pl12a exist and the seeker of the pl12a has been displayed before and its been mentioned to be in service
Issue is theres no pictures of the missile itself
Only documents stating that the missile is in service and its maximum range
Ccp unfortunately has done a good job keeping the military information secret
Which brings entirely different motor than WPU-16B in service since 120C5, does it?
idk about the desgination stuff but F3R is the one that freeed up space to have more motor
The same was done with C5, to introduce “+5” motor, WPU-16B.
That will never happen… even on big maps you have to climb and you usualy end up closer then 80km from the enemy… add also that enemy players turn (notch) and the missile won’t have any energy
so you climb backwards flying away from the battlefield. Also how does the GNSS even work?
The “range” is useless. The enemy goes into notch and it can’t follow. It only makes sense in real life because it can be fired without radar lock and automatically seeks out the first available target. You can fire it at an F-16 from 15 km away, but if it notches, it’ll go to Narnia. And GNSS only means that it stays straight on a line in the way to the miss and doesn’t wobble around. And ECCM is missing too. Two Chaffs are enough, and it goes to Narnia even with a hard lock
when I do that it comes back to me fast… players belpw you can launch missiles and your own rwr wont see it so you are a sitting duck
They can can rename it to 120XD
Whats the source for the aim120 impulse?
You’re letting your preconceived notions take the reigns here. What is actually more likely is that the very little public info we have is obfuscated as the aim120d is still one of the main missiles of the us and very much classified.
This is the correct answer. It wouldn’t be smart for the specific characteristics of your in-service equipment to be just available to your enemies in a couple of google searches.
And thanks to this effective obfuscation you have C5 copypaste in game and until newer missiles arrive it will be your best tool for the job.
If you mean “240” value, it comes from missile sheet, calculated based on thrust produced, time of burn and mass lost. Which seems to be oddly standardized across all dogfight ARHs, fluctuating between 234 (R-77) and 244 (Derby/R-77-1), so this might be case of Gaijin filling in blanks.
All i saw was Aircraft use F-14 for AIM-120C/D…
I’m a bit jaw dropped now to honest.
Sadly this advantage doesnt mean much in WT meta.
Ask gaijin to make bigger maps.
This isnt about that, if aim120d pulled decently it would be a good missile, the problem is the same old arbitrary neef from gaijin. How are we expected to bugfix something that isnt based on any sources? How is this healthy for a game?
Cool, another source in support of the F-14D’s AIM-120 compatibility.
