The only upgrad to the C version is the letter…
Gajin, are you serious? You’re releasing a “new” version with exactly the same specs? Even without any “information,” there should at least be some minimal improvement!

Uh. Actually it has GNSS (basically, no INS drift), more theoretical range and longer battery life, and together with the C-5 got a small buff to maneuverability. They don’t sound like a lot (cause they aren’t ngl) but it’s something.
And when you go through available public info… there actually isn’t anything solid to latch onto. At the same time, the same public materials can be used to shot down any “balancing reasons” buffs as none of these states “missile has improved maneuverability” or “improved motor, producing more thrust”.
That’s why the only upgrade is the letter… I mean, every logically thinking person knows that no company sells the same product with different brands, and the GNSS is unfortunately useless because in the ingame tests the C performs better and reaches the target sooner. but who cares. nothing new just another joke at the player base
I mean…
But yeah in this case gaijin is at fault.
IRL the Aim-120D and Aim-120C-8 are meant to be supplementing the Aim-260, and they are good missiles. It does make me worried for how the aim-260 will be implemented
didnt the 120D and C5 get buffed in the latest iteration of the dev server?
I think MATAWG’s video might be alil outdated
i tired it yesterday, the d feels worse than the C
It will have exact same, easily notchable seeker worry you not.
Don’t worry bro, the 260 has 50% less fins so it must have 50% less maneuverability /s (I hope).

C-5 and D are completely the same in terms of flight performance so there’s that. The rest is how well Gaijin decides to make that GNSS work.
i really hope the foldered image is satire too
From me it is; but from the slop account on Instagram, probably not lol.
Yesn’t. There was change to center of gravity to stabilizers value, with this render being thrown around:
At the same time, it looks like whoever made this render forgot to add 0.6s guidance delay typical for AMRAAMs, as green (new) missile starts to turn sooner. If you were to address that, odds are this “buff” has no impact whatsoever on flight model.
