This is a rather true statement at closer ranges.
Dual plane maneuverability, an alleged feature of AIM-120C-5, would be the only thing that would increase is maneuverability though.
You can do offensive notching strategies as well, like vertical notch, for example. If your only notching play is to do a wide defencive loop after you notched or notching in a direction that doesn’t put pressure on the enemy - that’s your problem.
You can, thats still very much puts you on the defense
This whole thread:
what are you on?
AMRAAM is mounted on some of the best aircraft in the game, so what if 120C isn’t the best missile in the game.
yes and it is also mounted on the worst flight model at top tier
it should be a realistic expectation that gaijin would accurately implement new systems instead of artificially nerfing them to the point that in many cases 120C is worse than 120A
I’m not really tuned in with the differences of the 120C, but the AMRAAM is already the 2nd best in range. It is by all means a competitive missile. From what I can understand the 120C has greater range while trading some turning performance which should make its niche even better. Remember, Mirage 2000 and Barak II is at 13.7 with much worse airframes and missiles.
and its already by far the worst in close range agility
IRL 120C5 has significantly better HOBS performance so it should have more competitive close range performance in game which is much more important because most kills are from close range missile shots due to everyone knowing how to avoid longer shots
