I shot an AIM9M at an F-18C from a side aspect. It was supposed to be a kill because he did not use any flares and was flying straight. However, my missile somehow tracked him for a few seconds, then it switched to search mode and flew to god knows where. This must be a bug needs to be fixed.
as you can see in the video, it did not want to turn at all, although it was tracking the f18.
Not a bug. Missile lost track of the target due to over-leading it. Due to the close proximity of the launch and the high lead required to achieve a hit, the target left the 45 degree FOV of the missile seeker while it was manuevering, and it failed to reaquire target.
