The development of theme missiles started at nearly the same time 1974 and 1975. The R-77 was developed to counter the AIM-120, not the R27ER

F-15 having a weird tendency to rip at random times not-withstanding
Neither plane is white
Neither has any real advantage over the other when it comes to outmaneuvering one or the other
Su-27 gets the win there via HMD and R-73 though

F-15A AIM-7Ms randomly decide to straight up not work constantly like doing 180s away from the target in a perfect headon PDV HDN lock
Fairly certain that is most SARH at the moment. With the exception of the R-27ER which has the DL/INS to keep it going

Yeah I really hope they fix it since this is atrocious.
I’ve started see them go far chaff HARD like max G turns when I spectate my friend in his Flanker
I have noticed some wierder behaviour with radars recently when it comes to chaff, so it might be that instead. Also I think the Soviet radars are generally just worse, especially when it comes to dealing with the chaff. But perhaps it was some nerfs with how crazy they are at times.

the western radar nerfs are quite annoying. (I fear the State of the Sea Harrier FA2 when that gets added) Kinda put off on the Gripen C at the moment due to the radar. Not only is the radar we have rather buggy, but its not even a Gripen Radar, its an F-16s radar. So im just holding off on it till it gets fixed/changed
(For context, I play SB, radar is far more integral part of my day)

MTI honestly works better than PD when it comes to losing lock on stuff in game
I’d love to play my yanks in SB, but I get no indication for sparrow locks so I’d be stuck to heatseekers or hoping to god I’ve got them at the right angle and rolling that die
Ah yeah, SB cockpits need an overhaul. So much missing symbology. Especially things like lock strength, sometimes you just have to wing it

He’s not necessarily wrong. The in-game Flanker is carried / over-performing because of its missiles, not because of its airframe. The current F-15A is surviving solely because the airframe is actually somewhat okay.
A Flanker out of missiles is easy to kill. It’s just that its carrying 8 very very very good ones, and so are the 10 other flankers on the opposite team.
With the 27ER I’m getting rear aspect shots, super long distance target-switch sniping, and other hilarious gimmicks while flying the MiG-29. With the F-16C, and worse still the F-15A with its terrible radar, I’m hoping for at best front-aspect shots at a target that is at clear altitude - factors that I don’t have to worry about when flying the -29.

Tell me you never flew russian top tier without telling me. Radars on both 29s and 27 are blind as bat compared to F-16 for example.

Stay at high altitude(10+km) then no one will even bother to lock on you. This tactic works most of the times. Just keep an eye on enemy players who are using the same tactic.
what makes a radar good to you? To me it means getting and maintaining locks long enough to guide in a missile. The F-15’s radar succeeds at both those aspects while the Su-27’s radar does not. So the USA has better radar than the current ruzzian meta plane, but is held back by the performance of the sparrows, while the Su-27 has all the quality missiles, but is held back by a terrible radar and RWR set. Honestly pretty balanced IMO, and I have more fun playing the F-15A than I do the 27/11.
