Skipped it too, but because there are better variants of F-16 with SARH missiles in other tech trees (F-16AJ, MLU).
Yeaah but if im gonna invets into another nation id rather go for something completely differnet like gripoen or mig, than a repackage of something I already have, but thats personal preference, though i think its quite dumb that non-original nations get usually the better variant of US jets, but thats a whole other discussion

Understand your opinion, but i see nothing wrong with it. Country buys aircraft or a vehicle and then upgrades it for their needs. Examples: J34 (Swedish Hunter), MiG-29G, Saar (Super Myster B2) etc.

The 9L is frankly terrible compared to the R-60M as is due to the latter having actual good flare rejection against targets with their AB on for some reason.
9Ls yeet off into the stratosphere the moment any flare appears, AB or not after their nerf.

LMAO, ok buddy, if you dont see a problem in commenting on a thing you never flew, while struggling with one of the most OP TT jets (which is arguably much worse if this is your alt and you have X hours playing, besides if it is, whats your main? At least show us your number of flyputs in the f16a)
The aim 9L still is one of the most solid fox 2 in game, above average range, fairly good flare resistance, especially against hot engines like the phantom ones, and high enough G load.
Definitely better than a r60m in every way except G load right off the rails.

I find it a bit weird some times and it would randomly loose track in side on engagements, pretty strange, sort of like when you turn of radar half way after launching fox 1s, never happened with other fox 2s without flares.
It definitely isn’t the best at front and side locks but remember it hasn’t got any type of irccm, in rear aspect it has incredible flare resistance (for not being an irccm missile) and you should use it in all aspects only for targets that don’t know it’s coming their way.
I just keep running out of 7Ms otherwise I wouldn’t even use it.
