AIM-54C is underperforming

I honestly don’t know. All I can see is that they now have the lowest value of all ARH missiles. Interestingly, in the files, the Aim-120C-5 and the MICA have 7 and 7.5 respectively, and those are the most advanced missiles we have in the files.

Where did you get this from?

Update: found where you got it from.
Apparently, it’s a buff. It’s making the Seeker FOV smaller so it doesn’t see chaff as easily. W.

We’re getting SOMEWHERE, I guess.

@MythicPi I remember you did the rough calculations for how rockets having increased thrust at high alt would affect the AIM-54. Would this be a nerf to lower alt launches or a buff?

If it affected low alt launches at all, probs a nerf, tho I dont think itd have any real effect on low alt launches since the rocket motors thrust used by gaijin in-game is likely stated for sea level.

Has anyone made bug reports about the tracking beyond notch and all of the C? I remember the motor and aerodynamics were reported some time ago

So, uhh. Where are the AIM-54’s buffs?

“accepted” or “forwarded to devs” or simply ignored. Gathering dust.

They also accepted a report that will half the warhead, so sometimes them ignoring reports is a good thing lol

practically speaking they don’t really have to, they just have to make missiles more consistent, as many missiles in game do pull their IRL rated max, despite dual plane not being modeled. realistically speaking, them modeling dual plane would at best mean the missile hits slightly further back on the target craft due to the time it would take for the roll to occur. if they just gave it the 24g pull it had IRL it would be nearly indistinguishable from a proper dual plane system where the missile actually rolls itself, where the only way to tell it wasn’t being spectating the munition. gaijin is just being lazy and not making good on past promises in order to hide away previous aircraft to make way for the shiny new keys to jangle in front of potential customers.
