AIM-120D is just... wrong

mhm yes weightt increase
does absolutely nothing but nerf
i wonder what the weight increase is, more burgers?

bigger battery and electronics for gnss

shouldn’t this also apply to the pl12A

Maybe a few kg of that is, but the rest has to either be a different motor or just more fuel. No way a bigger battery or GPS guidance is that heavy lol

currently the PL12A is no heavier than the PL12 thats what i was referencing

yeah the correct weight got forwarded as a suggestion. as in the correct weight is only gonna be fixed if the devs feel like it.

STR?

he is quoting something an airforce instructor said

34deg STR is simply not realistic

lets assume that is at 750kph

then the pilot would need to sustain over 12Gs

According to you and the Russians maybe

I’d take the word of someone who’s job is to teach people how to fly the jet over yours

sigh
physics apparently dont apply to the f22

What does the pilot have to do with pure airframe performance, which is probably what the guy was talking about

the pilot needs to fly the plane

you know how much 12Gs is?

ontop of that the plane would need to be able to withstand more than 12 times its own weight

with the f22 weighing around 19tons empty that would be around 230 tons the airframe needs to withstand
and thats ignoring fuel weight

Modern fighters can do that though

thats why they are all limited to 9Gs?

Lol, you can’t understand a fighter being built to withstand high G forces

You said yourself, the pilot has to fly it

you are coping and not understanding the forces at work

so how is the plane going to sustain 34 deg per second

The plane itself should be capable of it, the pilot maybe not for more than a few seconds

the same af istructo said that the Su-30 can sustain 24 deg per second maybe we should buff the Su-30 to that as well then
