They probably didn’t know. Could they have checked, probably. But at the same time, they are also probably filtering through dozens of, if not hundreds of reports each day, and spending time searching to see if something similar has already been reported when the report itself isn’t good enough either way just makes sense for efficiency point of view.
AIM-120B isn’t smokeless (correct if wrong), and only got reduced smoke motors with the late AIM-120C variants.
Looking at the source provided for the accepted report, the motor isnt changed until Aim-120C7 and the motor used prior to that is reduced smoke.
Yeah, that one with reduced smoke is called smokeless.
I mean, you can see a guy in the F15 launching AIM120 (dunno, A or B) and there comes “no smoke” (for all intents and purposes) in the back.
Doesn’t say the AIM-120B has a smokeless motor.
bro it says amraam has smokeless motor in context of multiple variants including B
It doesn’t say the AIM-120B has a smokeless motor.
Even Alpha had smokeless motor. Pictures in my report are from 1980s and even preproduction test missiles had smokeless motor (check black-white painted one).
because its talking collectively about all of the included variants in the document
It would have said that the AIM-120B introduced a smokeless motor. Rather, it says it has electronic/compatibility improvements.

it doesn’t say aim-120b introduced a smokeless motor because it didn’t. all of the variants included have it
Don’t think the AIM-120A has a smokeless motor, but that’s from what I found-
it uses same propellant. feel free to send me whatever you found so we can dissect it.
Generalizing doesn’t help the case, Gaijin won’t accept a document that says “The AIM-120 AMRAAM has a smokeless motor”. Rather, it is best to find a manual/declassified doc that explicitly states “The AIM-120B has a smokeless motor”.
it was accepted bro
Send that bug report please. Did not expect that out of all the sources Gaijin accepts.
It does, indeed. It was one of the features upon which Hughes got the contract.

Likely not going anywhere, but that’s just assumption-
