AIM-120 misses

The more I play on the AIM-120, the worse my results are. I learned to play and made 4 frags, now my results are almost zero, all the missiles I launch either miss or make critical hits.

I always found it hilarious that the enemy could throw that missile from spawn, and I would be behind a mountain, barely 30m off the ground, and I would still be hit.
Meanwhile I will be 6km away from the guy, head on, going above Mach 1, and the missile will spike into the ground right in front of him.

People still learning what multipathing is in 2025. Can’t wait to teach players this new tactic in 2030

Also in this thread, people complaining about the amraam? Not even referring to OP. Forum is pretty low skill today.

Name whats a better long range ARH missile?

blatantly false. Do your research before giving input.

Still doesn’t know what multipathing is after being told what multipathing is 20x.

su30 is strictly worse at bvr than most meta amraam carriers.

R77 does the same thing so I dont even know what to say, all radar guided missiles do the same thing

Not exactly, R24R just has doppler filter, so it doesn’t care about ur lock, but rather just the radar reflection, and so while ur radar is fooled by chaff it isn’t, as long as the target is still illuminated it hits. Same with Aspide actually. R27s don’t have IOG, they just 100% follow locks (in game) as seen by they can’t be TWS guided.

and aim7e

r27s do have IOG but it doesn’t mean they need to have the ability to launch without a hard lock

isnt in game yet

tvc asraam variant when

Isn’t needed. Just adds weight,.complexity and expense

iris t will still outperform it in a df

The point of ASRAAM is that any IRIS-T slingers will be dead long before they ever get into range.

Though ASRAAM will still do just fine in a dogfight

yes they do

TWS guidance is not a requirement for datalink. The ability for the missile to receive updates after launch is what defines datalink. The R27 can be dumb for 30 seconds straight and will still immediately catch a lock in front of it and track to target if you acquire a lock it can see

look at the altitude listed for the f15 in the last screenshot, its well above the 60m multipath height

starting with the AIM 7 M we have monopulse seekers.

thats the player, not the enemys alt hes shooting at

true^^
Also still people don’t know what energyfighting is.
And with new players coming in every day, it’ll be a constant uphill battle to teach

that is player but I thought that the lake he was flying over was see level and the replay info lists him at 0.2km altitude where multipath would be 0.06 probably rounded to 1km
