they said they werent interested in adding them yet
That’s fair.
They also said they weren’t interested in adding higher tier premiums yet here we are lol. (I’m just trying to say things and ideas will change)
Yes it would.
im just saying what it is now because they talked about it being this year or something when it was made clear it isn’t coming soon
japan still vibing with the worse longbow apache in the game :)
I can’t check the wiki rn becuase it is down but isn’t also at a lower BR because of that?
they could at least fix hellfires velocity, flight trajectory and IOG
and maybe add some of the later ones with a blast frag warhead and proxy fuse to deal with air and AA
I imagine with the AH-64E they could also consider adding the JAGM, minus the mmw radar guidance. The AH-1Z could also carry it already, but I guess they are saving it for the new additions rather than adding it to something older. An AH-1Z with them could be really strong though…
Isnt that just the Hellfire we’ve already got? (for all intent and purposes)
JAGM has a tri-mode seeker, mmw + IR + SALH, so remove the mmw and we are left with IR + SALH. Would be pretty powerful I think.
Wait… maybe that was only the JAGM-MR
Yeah, was thinking, I dont think the base JAGM has IR,
That would be JAGM-MR. Which is still an option I suppose, if they are happy with 16km IR guided AGMs on helis or not.
Well, yeah I don’t think we’ll be seeing that then… Sucks, I suppose that leads us back to the Spike.
Though I still think they might add the JAGM anyway just to have something new, and still without mmw of course. They would probably make its IOG drift just a tad better than the Hellfire one, maybe more like that of the Brimstone (still not super great, but better). But yeah, I guess without mmw it’s not much more than the Hellfire we already have. Or maybe by then Gaijin will have implemented sufficient countermeasures for mmw radar seekers for them to be implemented.
Actually, fairly certain they are already identical.
This is my hope as to why we’ve not seen the AH-64E, that MMW will come sooner rather than later.
Inertial drift of the Hellfire is 3.5, Brimstone is at 2.0
Anyways, it doens’t matter much. Both are not accurate enough to hit anything without lasing, though I haven’t tested how close Brimstones get. It would matter a bit more if they made it so they would switch back to IOG after LOL however, which the Hellfire at least doesn’t seem to.
Yeah, both have their IOG disable after use of laser.
But yeah, for the US at least Spike is probably the best option.
The Tricky bit becomes Britain and other Apache nations.
So far, they’ve been a bit stingy on giving Britian weapon system it did not implicity use. Which probably means no Spikes. Which then leaves JAGM or Brimstones. Neither of which are FnF without MMW.
After that maybe the Wildcat with Martlets which might have IR guidance
they aint gonna give them to AH1Z
they didnt even give it a good RWR, despite entering service less than 20 years ago it cant identify threats in service well before that
You know what would take the cake is if Gaijin adds the AH-64E then add an AH-64D blk III as a premium .3 br lower with less advanced weapons. Even though it is the same aircraft just redesignated.
Iirc the SPIKE on our Apaches are new gen and should be much better than what’s ingame.
I’ll try to keep track of JAGM-MR testing to see when/if that gets put on an Apache, since that would be a pretty big upgrade. Anduril’s Barracuda 100 could also be tested on Apaches
JAGM-MR apparently has same size as plain JAGM, so should be able to fire from Apache, but I feel like GJ being GJ, it’ll have to be fired from one
JAGM-MR has identical or nearly identical dimensions to plain JAGM so I’d say that’s your best bet
