yes but a lot of people wouldn’t bother if its optional to identify target especially because it requires exposing themselves
Your argument is over player laziness. Needing to be agumented against when nothing in thw game exists that stops that already.
Morvran already stated how he is getting team killed by of aircraft with IFF. But you are saying the FRC needs IFF so it can’t lock friendlies. The IFF doesn’t stop the locking of friendly aircraft it helps with IDing friend and foe. Why do we need some make shift block when the IFF you are asking for doesn’t even exist already.
Yes hes getting teamkilled intentionally however with fcr and no forced target validation there will also be a large amount of unintentional team kills and this is something no one wants
It will very much add on top of intentional teamkills
If when your target an mark on the radar and the TADS slaves over to a friendly marker and you fire. There is nothing unintentional about that.
TKs will always happen, from people being reckless to people just not understanding how core game mechanics work. TKs will happen.
At its very core though the question is this:
Should an entire class of weapon (MMW) be denied entry into the game just because of the potential risk that people will use them incorrectly or recklessly resulting in an increased number of TKs?
Really hope they add the Hungarian one too.
Would love to put a helicopter in my HU lineup, but man, I really dislike Hinds lol.
Well like i said a lot of people will be utilizing the fcr from behind cover and probably from the longer ranges because they dont want to be killed
Or people are just greedy and launch a lot of missiles
16 missiles from behind cover with no forced validation in span of seconds with no iff can be dangerous especially in a developed battlefield even if theyre not malicious and instead just lazy
They shouldn’t be banned however they should be restricted to forced target validation as long as aps isn’t more common on top tier
There is no reason to allow people to launch 16 hellfires in seconds against no iff radar targets
Also because if they fire from behind cover it will be very much too difficult to kill by spaa
Spam your missiles in seconds, go rearm, spam again…
All while when youre done firing missiles youre able to lower yourself before spaa missiles can reach you
From my understanding that isn’t what is holding mmw weapons back feom coming. It is the ability to ignore smoke.
FRC locks target> target is over blue dot> fire anyway.
Yeah I see how being 8kms away will make that hard to tell the difference.
It was one of the core points they highlighted when they denied Brimstones their MMW Seeker and one people seem to hide behind more than any other for some reason.
Imo, out of all the reasons they gave for denying MMW, their ability to ignore smoke is the only one I actually hold legitamcy for. That being said, there is smoke designed to counter MMW, so it really should be all that hard to address (and there is the whole situation with the potency of IOG as well)
Yeah been the age old question why they just don’t add smoke that blocks mmW.
I don’t necessarily think they should be permanently denied for either of these reasons.
But I do think they should remain temporarily denied until everyone has SPAA / SAM systems capable of adequately defending the team against them (and/or the platforms launching them).
Really hard to justify adding any more nutty A2G munitions right now when ground is already on life support against current CAS.
This argument needs to stop it is lazy and has no bearing on it’s implementation if anything it makes the addition more viable because of the risk.
They only real issue with it but then again you have the tiger out here slinging SPIKES like it’s cool from cover aswell.
They only real valid argument against 114Ls is they can ignore smoke and how fast you can riple them off. But then again I can riple off spikes left and right quickly so that only leaves ignore smoke.
Yeah im sure people will like getting killed by missile spam with no required target verification when we could force one and make the missile actually not hated by war thunder ground players
Not 16 in seconds, not from behind cover, the person firing needs to find the targets by eye and is unlikely to teamkill and also can be decoyed by driving through trees (and was it smoke too)
It isn’t the equivalent as blindly spamming 16 hellfires, actually from behind real cover with only a small fcr visible at kilometers against random ground targets and it won’t care about trees, it won’t care about smoke and the pilot doesn’t even need to find you with eyes because you will appear in automatically scanning radar
So, either limited hellfire for now or unlimited one after aps is more common and chaff smoke has been added
Does Hungarian one carry ATGMs?
Perhaps, but KH-38s and AASMs are here. Im sure the US will get AGM-84 SLAM sooner rather than later. There is little options for 3 nations and their top tier aircraft besides MMW, not too mention most nations top tier Helis getting FnF.
So something has got to change soon, because its really annoying currently.
(Especially for those such as myself that dont really care about GRB and just want to destroy Sim Convoys with a volley of Brimstones in the Tornado Gr4)
Maybe slam would come. It is strong in a sense that you can be fully safe from spaa and also fire it from your airfield however spaa units shouldn’t have hard time countering them unless if you fire many of them and idk how they will model the datalink
Unless if they wont
Wrong because the FLIR its above the rotors like the LONGBOW.
As I said the only valid thing stopping 114Ls is the amoke right?
Please never bring this up again cause as I stated the tiger can sit behind cover and use it’s imager.
As I stated before the only reason I AM opposed to 114Ls being added is because you can fire 16 hellfires at a multitude of targets quickly.
This whole statment “WhAT aBOuT FrIEndLy FIrE” is pointless and annoying.
If SLAM has a remote control type mode, they wont model it.
AJ168 has something similar IRL (in fact it was the only control mode IRL) but in game its just TV guided.
