I dont think every nation would get them since not all have apaches
Every nation except Russia has a hellfire carrier. The 114L does not require the Longbow radar to be used, it just enhances it’s targeting capabilities in bad weather or other obscurents.
But only confirmed operator of longbows is US
No. The Buk uses an ARH missile. The DIRCM systems have no effect on these.
However, hovering essentially makes you invisible to the missiles seeker, and it is also susceptible to multipathing, which is easy with a helicopter.
The problem is the missile has insane speed (mach 4.5) and it comes from above, i don’t know how it would impact the gameplay but we can just wait and see.
Wdym? Like why does it make you invisible to the seeker only when hovering?
Because the missile uses a Pulse Doppler radar, which requires some form of closure rate in order to distinguish it’s target from clutter. In-game, a hovering helicopter has 0 closure rate and so is lost on the seeker. The ground radar can still do its best to data link the missile close, but it’s not a guarantee.
This is only the case because the devs have refused to model the helicopters significant radar returns generated by their rotor blades. Otherwise even a hovering helicopter would be a screaming beacon for radar missiles.
As long as you can hide from the primary radar, I think it will be avoidable.
However, if you can’t hide from the ground radar, it’s massive proximity fuse range will mean it will likely still get a kill just by data linking the missile close enough.
I do wonder how this will interact with the ground though, as previously all proximity fuses were disabled below 15M altitude, if it is restricted to a similar level then does it should be fairly easy to defeat.
Dont forget the 25m trigger radius and 50kg of tnt
Peak chinese ragebaiting bro im dying reading these replies
they also made it the most notch resistant missile in the game, with angle of half sensitivity being less than half that of the mica (1/5th of the 120C)
I got used to Russia getting the fastest missile in the game, there was Pantsir now its BUK.
The launcher radar also gives updates only milliseconds apart, so BUKs can kill anything, even helicopters hovering / flying in multipath.
So a literal 40km death bubble.
Also you would think that 6 giant missile tubes would go kaboom at the smallest spark… apparently not , they can tank a lot of hits without ever detonating.
guess that 1 update is too long for russia to not have by far the best AA in the game
