AGM-114 Hellfire - Badly underperforming?

If a paveway embedding itself into the roof a tank doesn’t kill it, I doubt a JDAM airburst would either.

Are JDAMs even designed to destroy tanks?

It’s a modular kit so depends on the warhead, and since they fit most bodies that use the Mk.8x form factor, options exist for; GPHE, SAP, AP, FAE(BLU-118), OR(obstacle reduction), RCDM (reduced collateral damage munition), Mine(Quicksink & Destructor) & AShM / Torpedo and Submunition deployment.

So there are a number of options, considering SALH nose fuses do exist that can provide terminal guidance, and could probably be combined with the existing -ER & -P type kits for extended range. There is also the potential for the Quicksink(likely IIR) or Anti-Rad Seeker kits to supplant them as well.

In fact it’s interesting that LJDAMs are already implemented, just not on US aircraft for whatever reason.

It happens to M48s as well, seems like those massive round wielded turrets do quite a lot. I’ve bombed M48 with 2000lb and have a hit as well. 500lb is actually possible cause the server does weird stuff so it doesn’t actually hit properly.

Me when my kh38 only takes out the barrel and tracks of a leo2a6

If you’re not killing someone with KH-38, even if it’s a game bug - we’ll be considering it being a skill issue

forum users when self homing device decided to hit Leopard’s turret cheek: skill issue

It should still kill as well, 152kg explosive, plenty to kill leopard anywhere. IDK why so many people conclude everything as skill issue.

Yeah it is supposed to kill but this is game mechanic, not me making it up. Happens a lot with kh29, agm-65G and even with hammers

Jeez…

it has since be marked not a bug for some reason

Using stock Saraph and i really cant kill anything. These things suck so much id rather have an SS10 over these pieces of trash

they take a lot of practice to get down but can be used decently

of course they are still massively underpreforming in impact speed making them unable to make last minute corrections like they should

Its insane how thst is acceptable. The hellfires are essentislly unable to hit maneuveringntargets at range. The become ao unresponsive and slow

Totally wrong impact angle too, they still love to dip down and try to impact the sides of tanks, when they should be coming down in a nearly ballistic arc onto the roofs of tanks.

The fact that this has been a issue for years now and its such a obvious issue is crazy to me.

Acceptable for years at this point too, willing negligence.

    1. 2025, Hellfires are still doo doo. This post was made in 2023, there are little to no changes to the whole Hellfire family.

But hey, at least we’re getting new cockpits 🤷

(Wtf are their priorities)

yep, and in that time they even added fire and forget ATGMS for a lot of helis including one that can carry 16

I gave up on trying to fix AGM-114s because the information I need is not published.
They can’t be fixed if the manufacturer can’t/won’t release the necessary information.

AGM-114Ls can’t be added without said helicopters being BR 13.3, and SPIKE-ERs require AH-64E.
AGM-114 range can’t be longer than 8km without the necessary information I alluded to in the first part of this post.

There is enough information to make the AGM-114B/114K perform as good as they should.
I made few posts to fix the Hellfires like add laser code to use the external platform guidance or add a flight path option but nothing went through.

I got the AH-64D long time ago waiting for the promised AGM-114Ls but still nothing. The Apache would ofc have to be 13.0 to prevent downtiers and I don’t mind that. I made few posts about the Longbow Hellfire but they said “The developers currently have no plans to add the AGM-114L Longbow Hellfire. Not a bug.”.
