“Digital” RWRs may be able to specify the specific Threat type, isolate a given contact’s Bearing, “in-range” cues and be able to direct other “Electronic Support Measures” (e.g. Hand-off to “Self-Protection” stores & cue Targeting aids, Jamming, Countermeasures etc.). and provide specific “Head-Up” Aural warnings (e.g. SA-6, 10 o’clock, low) & defensive / maneuvering recommendations to crew members.
An analog system basically should only be able to provide Bearing / Quadrant / sector detection, and Received strength / net audio pickup for a threat in a given band.
They’re gonna get JAGM-MR 100% because the JAGM itself is compatible with the Hellfire rack so the devs will just says the JAGM is compatible and give them that instead of AGM-114L.
Should they get JAGM-MR? No. It’s a US development not even fielded on US helis, let alone foreign countries.
At least with Spike, it requires different pylons so they can’t just give it to other AH-64Es.
Yeah, I saw it too. I’m so disappointed. I’m hoping they only give these helicopters it’s actual loadout rather than what the US has.
It just sucks overall because it disincentivizes players to play the US as a whole since what’s the point if all other nations are going to get what the US gets (even if it’s weapon systems are unique) but just at a later time.
yeah they should not get LDIRCM or JAGM-MR because neither of those have been exported for it
and to get stuff added for US vehicles you need proof they used them operationally not just of compatibility (and even then they probably wont add it see BOL for f15s, and LJADMS for f16c and f15e)
U cant compare a LMUR to a hellfire, but u can compare it to an agm179mr which lofts fyi. (I know the agm179mr is built off of the agm114 but ingame it’s so much better that it feels like it’s a whole other missile)
I’d be curious how it performs NOW because it was not always broken as it is now which is why people are complaining. Those stats are overall which could cover any wild span of time.
The tracking on the Hellfire series of missiles is absolute garbage. In the screenshot above, my laser is pointing at the crew inside the trailer yet my Hellfires go for the end of the Pantsir and since Hellfires in-game rely on the penetrator to do damage, it does nothing.
It also looks like only the first Hellfire is looking at my laser point, the other one is off by quite a lot.
This isn’t a cherry picked example, this happends often enough to be considered a bug. There’s still a bug report open on the War Thunder Bug Report Forum about Hellfires, still ignored, as usual.
The radar on the Apache series of helicopters is also modeled with 0 care, missing tacking, prioritization, classification and a lot more. I was only able to use it once to find the Pantsir from second screenshot through trees.
I’ll be making another bug report on these 2 issues, if you have any good sources or you’re willing to help, I’d be more than happy.
