AESA, Datalink, and Sensor Fusion

Yeah, it’s what they’re suggesting. Ngl I’m 50/50 on whether or not it will be added myself

This wouldn’t surprise me at all…

down the line there should definitely be a variant of the F-15 and F-16 based on 2010’s service, with their AESA radars, AIM-120C/D and AIM-9X. I can only see that being new vehicles to grind though and not a change to the currently in game F-15C and F-16C since those new weapons would make it a totally different beast

We already have the variant. The F15C MSIP II was AESA equipped, but in game has a different PD RADAR.

The F-15C had an entire squadron of AESAs before the F-2 even had a production aircraft

I might be wrong but didn’t they equip like 3 squadrons with the V2(?) radar and then go back and equip every aircraft with V1(?) radars later on, as in 2008.

Plus there’s no need to make the best aircraft in-game any better right now.

They went on to equip them with the V3 actually and it was in 2006 that they moved them up to the V3.

1 full squadron, 18 jets, based in Alaska.

ECM should only be added if they’re going to also add home-on-jam modes for the missiles that have them

No. It needs AESA and it needs to carry 22 AMRAAMS and also the secret laser from Ace Combat 4. Also the R-27ER needs to be removed from the game.

Bigger maps (way bigger maps) with one AWACS for each team (even as a target mission from time to time) and data-link would improve the sim gameplay so much.

Su-57 flies with 360 degree AESA. If my memory serves me right, it has 4-6 radars.

ik, besides the Su-57, do other Russian gen4 have AESA?

No. The Su-35S has a PESA with a 240-degree field of view

MiG-35 allegedly does or was a testbed for one anyhow.

Agreed, maps and overall gameplay need some major TLC before we start adding even more modern stuff than what we already got.

I am betting ECM will be added if/when ARMs and the new static SAMs in the files are added to the game myself. It would definitely be the best time to introduce it.

I could be wrong but wasbt it like 180 degree fov or 90 degree each way off centreline?

Like the SMT but with PESA.

Yes. But ±120deg

Agreed

This is perfect the AESA/Aim-120 passive radar mode. Could launch on the SU-57 and it would never know until its too late that its own plane gave it away. It has the RCS of an F18 anyways so an easy target.

This would make the game an entirely different adventure with NATO HMDS being able to show the Awacs data directly in line of sight. AWACS radar can read, and track both air and ground units. AWACS can also datalink with Aim-120s, Aim-260s, Aim-174Bs, AGM-88s, Really all post 1990s AGM and AAMs. The launch aircraft doesn’t even need to stick around or get involved.

But we should start with aircraft in game that already had AESA, Passive Mode, and System Fusion.

Don’t make me laugh dude, no one can know the RCS of the Su-57
