It does make sense for Germany to get IRIS-T even before Sweden. Seeing that the F-4F ICE could get it before the Swedısh gripens. Very funny post but still more justifiable than the Swedish thread which makes this thread even funnier.

The F-4F badly needs an upgrade. The first one needs Aim-9L and the ICE needs Iris-T.
They’re horribly outdated and even with IRIS they wouldn’t be that good. Don’t even have HMD.

Except not quite, since the IRIS-T on the F-4F ICE is limited in its capabilities, iirc due to using an analogue bus instead of the digital one on the typhoon. The ICE also does not have access to to an HMD for off-bore shots, so it would not be anywhere near as strong as other 5th gen IR missiles would be when employed with HMD’s.
Thats arguably fine if the ASRAAM has similar limitiations. The request isnt to make germany “the best”, even an IRIS-T couldnt fix the pile of garbage that is the F-4F ICE, it would just mean it wouldnt be literally worthless against 99% of the jets it faces in a merge.
Gaijin has a history of kneecapping missiles to make them fit in the game. The magic 2 was buffed something along the lines of a dozen times since added, the AIM-54C is still a copy paste AIM-54A with effectively none of the improvements it had irl, the MICA-EM and AMRAAM are missing low smoke motors, all fox-3’s are exceedingly easy to notch, etc… Saying “its too early” for an analogue bus, no HMD IRIS-T fired from one of if not the worst airframe above 12.0 is honestly laughable, and a massive cop-out on gaijins part, likely to “justify” the absolute idiocy that is the leaked swiss subtree for germany, where they will “fix” the german top tier air “problem” they’ve created by giving germany the single worst F/A-18 variant, and the least unique, and most irrelevant subtree in this games existence, with absolutely no future to it (seeing as the replacement for the F/A-18C thats been leaked to be coming to germany is the F-35A).
Instead of just adding a powerful IIR missile with limited capabilities, and nerfing it to make it fit in-game as they’ve done tons of times in the past, gaijin is going to add a subtree that adds nothing to the game or the german tech tree beyond a single jet that will remain sub-par compared to its peers. Congrats, you’re advocating for gaijin flooding the game with more copy-paste garbage and effectively “selling” the solution to the problem they’ve crafted with their own two hands.

Yup, and the UHT was so bad because of it that it was just about the only top tier helicopter at the time CC’s actively told people to not bother even grinding because it was a waste of a vehicle in a lineup. Then gaijin buffed it and it started crushing Ka-50/52’s in heli EC, leading to the Russian players who used their little sisters chemo money to buy their Ka-50 to cry to gaijin that it was “unfair” after they’d spent a year absolutely destroying the heli EC matchmaker, leading to gaijin nerfing the PARS 3 hard, making it borderline useless vs air targets and once again making the UHT effectively incapable of defending itself vs aerial threats…
