This will make the game better and realistic.
I agree with this change and would love to see it added to the game as long as we can mute and report people easily.
We need it, so you can at least identyfi aircraft in front of you.
I do not possibly understand why this topic is not passed to the developers?!?!?
Gaijin should start working on some features that would bring quality to the game instead of releasing new premiums all the time!
+1 if added with proximity chat.
Both the usefulness as well as meme factor would make it justifiable (as long as you could also turn it off if you wanted to)
Ya I updated the OP with how I think the voice system should work. If by proxy you mean both sides being able to talk to each other that might be a bit much, I LOVE games that have that, but it might be asking for too much. Not to mention its not really realistic since you are inside a vehicle and shouldn’t have access to their radio channels.
Yeah, probably
I do enjoy sim quite a bit, its where i go when i want to free ace a crew. And i do wish sim was given a bit more love in many other ways not just this…
However, while i think most of the sim community is mature i dont think the Warthunder community is the type to have voice chat, especially considering the rating. How are you going to monitor someone who starts breaking TOS and abusing other players?
WT can be frustrating, can you imagine in sim if a new player in your team is team killing you while you dont fire back? What are you going to do? In the best case for me id call them an idiot.
ive gotten into arguments with some sim players who clearly cant differentiate tanks. got team killed in a kw1c once while on the cap with said player and the team mate said “its a russian tank its your fault” and someone who killed me in the type 74 (at close range) and would not budge that i look like a t-72 so i just left the match. Voice chat? im no angel, i would absolutely swear at them.
I havent played it in a very very long time, before that i used to play Project Reality, the father of Squad. At times if you ran into good guys (the PR community was small and most guys were excelent) you could go from having the game of your life being fully immersed to laughing until you cannot breath anymore because youre playing as insurgents doing insurgent things. I doubt the WT community is mature enough to replicate this
In squad, unless its been changed, most servers require you to be in a squad or you get kicked from the lobby, also, the squad leader can kick people from the squad if they are idiots. Typically if someone who is immature is a squad leader people either leave and create another squad or join other squads leaving the person alone. Its also a pretty tactical game so it doesnt attract alot of weird players and those who do think its call of duty end up leaving as its a slow paced game. The nature of the game and the team/squad system more or less means its self moderating. There are also plenty prvately run servers who you can report players to, so the developers dont deal with these issues.
Another point i think now that were talking about squad is the language barrier, in squad, hell let loose and post scriptum there were lobbies dedicated to communities. They would say “english only” or german server or have it written in mandarin or korean or whatever is it so you know that youre probably not going to be able to communicate in that lobby so you dont join.
Warthunder does not do this. You will run into people who cannot communicate with you ALOT, and knowing how immature WT players can be you will get targeted abuse because some players got too frustrated the other person cant understand them.
I mean theres tens of thousands of players, 100 is not that much
Most of the sim community i believe is mature as they look for slower based gameplay. In ground anyway because the rewards arent that significantly better than GRB so people dont do what happens in Air Sim where they just rush bomb bases or whatever.
In saying that if it could be implemented with a solid moderation system id be down to change my vote, however i think it will be too difficult to do as youd need a way to record audio, and thats going to be alot of data to go through and listen and moderate. With the current chat when you report a player everything they said gets sent to the moderators, and its ussually just a few lines of text. Having to listen to a potentially 25min audio file to find what the player said and if it breaks TOS? Thats very very difficult on the moderator.
Like i said, i believe most of the Sim community is very mature and if there was a way to implement i think it should only be for SIm. Grb is filled with all kinds of people.
