I would like to suggest adding the F-15 STOL/MTD to the USA jet tree. I understand that this is an experimental aircraft and detailed information about its radar, engine, and full specifications might not be fully available. However, we could use the known characteristics of the F-15 STOL/MTD and combine them with the equipment from the F-15C to fill in the gaps. This way, we can offer a unique and fun aircraft without losing historical accuracy.
Although the F-15 STOL/MTD was a test aircraft and not a combat-ready fighter, its inclusion in War Thunder could provide an interesting addition to the USA tree. It could utilize the F-15C’s radar, weapons, and engine specifications, while showcasing the unique Thrust Vectoring capabilities of the STOL/MTD version.
You’re right — in the real STOL/MTD program, some of the radar systems were removed or replaced to accommodate the test equipment for the canards and thrust vectoring.
However, since the aircraft is experimental and not fully combat-equipped, my suggestion was to fill in the missing combat systems (like radar and weapons) with those from the F-15C to make it viable for gameplay while still showcasing the STOL/MTD’s unique flight performance.
I don’t know if adding 2 mutually exclusive systems at the same time is a good road to start down, that would be like letting a F-14B equip 6 sparrows and 6 phoenixes at the same time. But it could be added as an event plane with IR missiles only at a lower BR like the IR only F-16s.
