ADATS, what Gaijin got wrong

No, and it cant be done. In game stabilizer is based on weapon. ADATS has a stabilized sight, but not missiles.

what about this video

what about it?

23 seconds of adats going around with a stabilized missiles mount and gun mount
its basically stabilized like the ito

You can see the missiles jump around

at around 0:30 sec i dont think it jump around, the thing is fire on the move capable so id argue that it should have like a low speed stabilizer

i see
but ingame when i come to a stop scoped in the sight jump with the missiles tho so ig thats gaijin stuff?

yes. If weapon not stablilized sight too is not.

it should be seperate im guessing

yes, ADATS sight should absolutely be removed from the gun.

In addition to preventing it from being stabilized US ADATS has limited elevation to the guns max while the sight can point vertically.

I think this all could be pretty easily fixed by changing the primary weapon to be the missiles and the 25mm to secondary. Only downside of this would be that the controls will be kinda screwed up.

But I mainly want those radar changes… larger elevation coverage, TWS and 3rd person cueing would be such a QOL improvement.

yeah the radar will be the biggest change, especially if they make the IRST lock more reliable

then ADATS might actually be able to reliably intercept munitions so you wont have to go back to the m247 for that

does adats has gen 2 thermal? i think it should have it no?

No

As it uses the similar optics to the AH64A, no. But the AH64A should get worse thermals as it currently has gen 2 when it should be gen 1, but it’s for balancing reasons.

To be fair the Ah-64 had a considerably higher resolution FLIR than say an Abrams tank. FLIR generations are resolution of heat, not pixel resolution. The Apache had a gen 1 thermal with 809 pixels in the vertical so in Warthunder it should actually be a gen 3 to have the same resolution.
