The ADATS should be reclassified as an ATGM missile tank destroyer like it used to be. 9 times out of 10 when its being used its being used to kill tanks first and CAS second. It used to be classified as it before but was switched due to the Pantsir S1 and USA not having any better SPAA but now that there is the CLAWS and the NASAMS it should be moved back. Currently its just a cheap SP TD.

It was changed because everyone complained about it, as being classed as a tank destroyer resulted in it costing more SP to spawn in.

Then what do Britain and the US get as an SPAA (that only costs 70 SP) at 11.7?
Though the British version at least is stupidly weak in that role imo. Its big, slow and the missiles arent even that good. There are stronger missile TDs in the 9.0s/10.0s. So if its being judged on that performance, then it should get a BR drop.

SACLOS is a much different beast than active ir/radar. those can lose lock, run out of energy, etc. and are slower at immediately engaging the target depending on how close it is and it’s speed. the CLAWS and NASAMs absolutely do NOT fill the gap at top tier.
I figure they could add something to fill the gap of wasting dev resources on things like the NOMADS which nobody asked for.

The only thing I can think of for Britain is the Raven, but it would have 2 ASRAAMs + the 2 from the reload box.

The British or really Canadian ADATS is just a worse copy and paste of the American one.
I mean the whole of the English language forums are a NATO echo chamber right now. Its kind of sad to see.
If were just going of names and designations the 2S38 should be an SPAA. But that’s not how this game works and things are changed for balance reasons.
The Canadian one is also the only ADATS to enter service, on a WT possible platform (Thailand had one ADATS in service, but it couldn’t move).
Whereas a service vehicle, its entire role was as an anti-air unit, as Canada had other vehicles for anti-tank duties.
So it being classified as an SPAA is historically correct for the one nation it entered service with.

Ok then should the 2S38 also be an SPAA? Russia has other vehicles for anti tank duty and its entire role was also to be a anti air unit. Same as ADATS.
To be clear I dont think the 2S38 should be an SPAA but the argument your making for the ADATS to be classed as an SPAA is the same for the 2S38.
